¹¹ and a man of Israel stroue togyther in the host. And the Israelitish womannes sonne blasphemed the name & cursed, & they brought hym vnto Moses. And hys mothers name was Salomith, the doughter of Dibry of the trybe of Dan:

¹⁵ And God spake further vnto Moyses: thus shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel: the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, & the God of Iacob hath sent me vnto you: this is my name for euer, and thys is my memorial thorowout al generations.

²² And let them iudge the people at all seasons: If there be any great matter let theym bringe that vnto the, & let them iudge al smal causes them selfes, & ease thy selfe & let them bere with the.

²⁶ And thei iudged the people at all seasons, & brought the harde causes vnto Moyses: & iudged all small matters them selfes.

⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vayne, for the Lord wil not hold him giltlesse that taketh his name in vayne.

¹⁵ And speake vnto the children of Israel sayinge. Whosoeuer curseth his God, shal beare hys synne: ¹⁶ And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall dye for it: all the multitude shall stone him to death. And the straunger as well as the Israelyte if he curse the name, shal dye for it.

³³ And they that founde hym gatherynge styckes, brought hym vnto Moses and Aaron & vnto all the congregation: ³⁴ and they put him in warde, for it was not declared what should be done vnto hym. ³⁵ And the Lorde saied vnto Moses: the man shal dye: let al the multitude stone him with stones without the host.

¹⁴ Howe be it because in doynge this deede thou hast geuen the enemyes of the Lorde a cause to rayle, the chyld that is borne the shall dye surelye.

¹⁰ and set two vnthriftes before him: and let them testifye agaynst hym sayinge: thou dyddest curse bothe God and the king: & vpon that carie him out & stone hym to death.

¹³ and there came in two vnthriftye persones and sate before him. And the two vnthriftye persones wytnesseth agaynst Naboth before the people sayinge: Naboth dyd curse God and the kinge. And vpon the they caryed him out of the cytye and stoned him wyth stones to death.

³⁰ neyther let Hezekiah make you truste to the Lorde sayinge: the Lorde shall surely ryd vs, and thys cytye shall not be deliuered into the handes of the kyng of Assyrya.

³⁵ what God of any land hath deliuered his lande out of mine hand, that the lorde shoulde delyuer Ierusalem out of myne hande.

³⁷ Then Eliakim the stuard of the houshold and Sobnah the scrybe, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and tolde hym the wordes of Rabsakeh.

⁶ Isaiah sayde to them. So shall ye saye to youre mayster. Thus sayth the Lorde: be not afrayde of the wordes thou heardest, with whyche the young men of the kyng of Assiria haue railed on me.

¹⁰ And thervpon he departed and sent messengers vnto Hezekiah saying: Thus saye to Hezekiah king of Iuda: let not thy God carie the out of the waye, in whom thou so trustest sayinge: Ierusalem shal not be delyuered into the hand of the kinge of Assiria.

²² whom hast thou rayled on? and whom hast thou reuyled? Agaynste whome hast thou exalted thy voyce? and hast lyfte vp thyne eyes so hye?

¹⁴ which of all the Gods of those nacyons that my fathers destroyed was yt, that could delyuer his people out of myne hande, that youre God should be able to deliuer you out of myne hande? ¹⁵ Wherfore now lett not Hezekiah deceyue you ether perswade you of thys fashyon, nor yet beleue hym. For as no God amonge so manye nacyons and kyngdomes, was able to rydde hys people out of myne hande & the hande of my fathers: euen so moche lesse shall youre God kepe you oute of myne hande. ¹⁶ And yet moare dyd his seruauntes speake agaynst the Lorde God and agaynst his seruaunt Hezekiah. ¹⁷ And therto he wrote a letter to raile on the Lorde God of Israel & spake therin sayinge: as the Gods of the nacyons of other landes haue not delyuered theyr people out of myne hande, no moare shall the God of Hezekiah delyuer hys people out of myne hande.

⁵ So when they had passed ouer the tyme of their banckettynge rounde aboute, Iob sent for them, and clensed them agayne, and gat vp early, & offered for euery one a brentofferynge. For Iob thought thus: peraduenture my sonnes haue done some offence, and haue bene vnthankfull to God in their hertes. And thus dyd Iob euery daye.

¹¹ But laye thyne hande vpon him a lytle, touche ones all that he hath, and (I holde) he shall curse the to thy face.

²² In all these thynges dyd Iob not offende, ner murmured folyshye agaynst God.

⁵ But laye thyne hande vpon him, touche hym ones vpon the bone and fleshe, and (I holde) he shall curse the to thy face.

⁹ Then sayd his wyfe vnto him: Doest thou contynue in thy perfectnes? curse God, and dye. ¹⁰ But Iob sayde vnto her: Thou speakest lyke a folysh woman. Seynge we haue receyued prosperite at the hand of God, wherfore shuld we not be content with aduersyte also? In all these thynges, dyd not Iob synne with his lyppes.

¹⁸ Remember this, O Lord, how the enemy rebuketh, and howe the folyshe people blaspheme thy name.

²² Aryse, O God, and mayntaine thine own cause, remembre howe the folyshe man blasphemeth the daylye.

²¹ Yf he do not thys, he stombleth & suffereth hunger. And yf he suffre hunger, he is out of pacience, and blasphemeth hys kynge and his God. Then loketh he vpwarde, and dounewarde to the earthe,

⁶⁵ Then the hye Priest rent hys clothes sayinge: He hath blasphemed: what nede we of anye more wytnesses? Beholde nowe ye haue heard hys blasphemy

¹¹ Then sent they in men, whiche said: we haue heard him speake blasphemous wordes against Moyses and against God. ¹² And they moued the people and the elders and the scribes: and came vpon him and caught hym, ¹³ and brought him to the counsell and brought forth false witnesses whiche sayde. This man ceaseth not to speake blaspemous wordes against thys holy place, and the lawe,

²⁴ For the name of god is euyll spoken of amonge the gentyls thorow you, as it is wrytten.

¹³ when before I was a blasphemer and persecuter, and a tyraunte. But I obtayned mercye, because I dyd it ignorauntly thorowe vnbelefe.

¹¹ & blasphemed the God of heauen for sorowe and payne of their sores, and repented not of theyr dedes.

²¹ And there fell a greate hayle, as it had bene talentes, out of heauen vpon the men, & the men blasphemed God, because of the plage of the haile, for it was great, & the plage of it sore?
