³⁰ Se that ye kepe my Sabbothes and feare my sanctuary: I am the Lorde.

¹⁶ When Iacob was awaked out of his slepe he sayd: surely the Lord is in this place, & I was not aware. ¹⁷ And he was afrayed & said: howe fearfull is this place? it is none other: but euen the house of god, & the gate of heauen.

⁸ Remembre the Sabbath daye that thou sanctifie it.

³ Then Moses sayed vnto Aaron: this is that the Lorde spake saying: I wyl be sanctified in them that come nye me, & before all the people I wil be glorified. And Aaron helde hys peace.

³¹ Make the chyldren of Israel to kepe themselues from their vnclennesse, that they dye not in their vnclennesse when they haue defyled my habitacion that is among them.

² speake vnto Aaron thy brother that he goo at all tymes in to the holy place, that is within the vayle that hangeth before the mercyseate which is vpon the arck that he dye not. For I wyl appeare in a clowde vpon the mercyseate.

³ Se that ye feare euery man hys father and hys mother, and that ye kepe my Sabothes, for I am the Lord youre God.

⁷ And he put the kerued Image of an Idole which he had made, in the house of God. Of which house God sayde to Dauid and to Salomon his sonne, in this house here in Ierusalem which I haue chosen out of all the tribes, I wyll put my name for euer,

¹⁴ Therto all the rulers of the preastes with the people trespaced a pace after all maner of abhomynacyons of the hethen & poluted the house of the Lorde which he had halowed in Ierusalem.

⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the councel of the saintes and to be had in reuerence of al them that are aboute hym.

¹ When thou commest into the house of God, kepe thy fote & draw nye, that thou mayest heare: that is better then the offeringes of fooles, for they knowe not what euell they do.

⁶ kyl and destroye bothe olde men and yonge, maydens, chyldren, and wyues. But as for those, that haue thys marcke Than vpon them: se that ye touche them not, & begynne at my sanctuarye. Then they began at the elders, whiche were in the temple,

¹³ and sayde to them: It is writen, my house shalbe called the house of prayer. But ye haue made it a denne of theues.

¹⁵ And he made a scourge of smal cordes: and draue them all out of the temple with the shepe and oxen, and poured out the chaungers money, and ouerthrue the tables, ¹⁶ and sayd vnto them that solde doues: Haue these thinges hence & make not my fathers house an house of marchaundise.

¹⁶ Howe agreeth the temple of God with Images. And ye are the temple of that lyuynge God, as sayed God. I wyll dwell amonge them, and walke among them, and wyll be theyr God, and they shall be my people.

¹⁷ For the time is come that iudgemente must beginne at the house of God. Yf it fyrst begynne at vs, what shal the ende be of them, whiche beleue not the Gospel of God?
