¹⁴ And nowe feare the Lorde and serue hym in purenesse and truthe: And put awaye the Goddes which youre fathers serued on the other syde of the floude, and in Egypt, & serue the Lorde.

¹ When Abram was nynetye yere olde and .ix. the Lorde apeared to hym sayinge: I am the almyghtye God: walke before me and be vncorrupte.

⁵ sayde not he vnto me, that she was hys syster? yea and sayde not she herself that he was her brother? wyth a pure herte and innocent handes haue I done thys. ⁶ And God sayde vnto hym in a dreame. ⁷ And let them no moare offer theyr offerynges vnto deuyls, after whom they goo an whooryng. And thys shalbe an ordynance for euer vnto you thorow out youre generacyons.

¹² And now Israel what is it that the Lord thy God requireth of the, but to feare the lord thy God and to walke in all hys wayes & to loue him & to serue the Lord thy God with al thyne herte, & with al thy soule,

¹³ be pure therfore wyth the Lorde thy God.

² And Iosua sayde vnto all the people, thus saith the Lord God of Israel: your fathers dwelt on the other syde of the floude in olde tyme euen Thareh the father of Abraham and Nachor, and serued straunge Goddes.

²³ Then put awaye, sayde he the straung Goddes which are among you, and bowe your hertes vnto the Lorde God of Israell.

²⁴ Onelye feare you the Lorde and serue hym truly with all your hertes: for se, he hath done great thynges for you.

³ Oh Lorde, remembre yet howe I haue walked before the truly and with a perfect herte, and haue done that whyche is good in thy sighte, and wepte a great pace.

¹¹ whiche thou hast commaunded by thy seruauntes the Prophetes, and sayde: The lande vnto whiche ye go to possesse, it is an vncleane land thorow the fylthynes of the people of the landes, in their abhominacyons, wherwyth they haue made it ful of vnclennes on euery syde.

¹ In the lande of Nus there was a man called Iob: an innocent & vertuous man, soche one as feared God exchued euell.

²⁸ And vnto man he sayde: Beholde, to feare the Lorde, is wisedom, and to forsake euil, is vnderstandinge.

¹⁰ The feare of the Lorde is the beginning of wysdome, a good vnderstandyng haue al they that do therafter: the prayse of it endureth for euer.

⁴ But ther is mercy wyth the, that thou maiest be feared.

⁷ Then sayde I vnto them: Cast awaye euerye man the abhomynacyons that he hath before him, and defyle not youre selues with the Idoles of Egipte, for I am the Lorde youre God. ⁸ But they rebelled agaynst me, and would not folowe me, to cast awaye euery man the abhominacions of his eyes, & to forsake the Idoles of Egipte. Then I made to poure my indignacion ouer them, and to satisfye my wrath vpon them, yea euen in the myddest of the lande of Egipte.

¹⁸ Moreouer I sayde vnto their sonnes in the wildernesse: walcke not in the statutes of your forfathers kepe not their ordinaunces, and defyle not youre selues with their Idoles,

³ these (when they were younge) beganne to playe the harlottes in Egipte. There were their brestes brosed, and the pappes of their mayden head destroyed.

⁵ But afterwarde shall the children of Israell conuerte, and seke the Lorde their God: and Dauid their kinge: & in the latter dayes, they shall worshyppe the Lorde, and hys louynge kindnesse.

²⁵ O ye house of Israell, gaue ye me offeringes and sacrifyces those .xl. yeares long in the wyldernes? ²⁶ yet haue ye set vp tabernacles to your Moloch, and Images of youre Idols, yea, and the starre of youre God Rempha, figures which ye made to worshyppe them.

¹⁵ That in the good grounde, are they whyche with a good and pure herte, heare the worde and kepe it, and brynge forth fruyte wyth pacience.

²³ But the houre cometh and nowe is, when the true worshyppers shal worshyp the father in spyrite and in trueth. For verelye suche the father requireth to worshyp him. ²⁴ God is a spyryte, and they that worshyp hym, must worshyp hym in spiryte and trueth.

³¹ Then had the congregations reste thorowe out all Iewry and Galile and Samarie, and were edified, and walked in the feare of the Lorde, and multiplied by the confort of the holy ghoste.

¹² Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

²⁴ Grace be with al them whiche loue oure Lorde Iesus Christe in purenes. Amen.
