⁴³ And the Lorde gaue vnto Israell all the lande, whiche he sware to geue vnto their fathers. And they conquered it, and dwelt therin.

⁷ Then the Lorde appeared vnto Abram & sayd: vnto thy seed wyll I gyue this lande. And he builded an aulter ther vnto the Lord whyche appeared vnto hym.

¹⁵ for all the Lande whyche thou seest, wyl I gyue vnto the, & to thy sede for euer.

¹³ And he sayd vnto Abram: know this of a surety that thy sede shall be a stranger in a lande that perteyneth not vnto them. And they shall make bondmen of them & entreate them euell .iiij. hundred yeares. ¹⁴ But the nacion whom they shal serue, wyll I iudge. And after warde shall they come out wyth great substance. ¹⁵ Neuerthelesse, thou shalt go vnto thy fathers in peace, & shalt be buryed when thou arte of a good age: ¹⁶ and in the fourth generation they shall come hyther agayne, for the wickednesse of the Amorites is not yet full. ¹⁷ When the sonne was downe and it was waxed darcke: beholde, ther was a smokyng furnesse, and a fyrebrand that went betwene the sayde peces. ¹⁸ And that same daye the Lorde made a couenaunte with Abram sayinge: vnto thy seed wyl I geue this land, from the riuer of Egypt, euen vnto the greate ryuer Euphrates, ¹⁹ the Kenytes, the Kenizites, the Cadmonites, ²⁰ the Hethites, the Pherezites, the Raphayms, ²¹ the Amorytes, the Canaanites, the Gergesytes and the Iebusytes.

³ soiourne in thys lande, and I wyll be wyth the, and wyll blesse the: for vnto the, and vnto thy seed, I wil giue al these contryes. And I wyl perfourme the oth which I sware vnto Abraham thy father, ⁴ & wyl multiply thy sede as the stars of heauen, & will gyue vnto thy sede al these contries. And thorow thi sede shal all the nacions of the earth be blessed,

⁴ and giue the the blessing of Abraham: both to the, and to thy sede with the, that thou mayst possesse the Lande (wherein thou arte a straunger) whych God gaue vnto Abraham

¹³ yea, & the Lord stod vpon it, and sayed. I am the Lorde God of Abraham thy father, & the God of Isaac. The land whiche thou sleapest vpon wyl I gyue the & thy sede. ¹⁴ And thy sede shal be as the dust of the earth: and thou shalt spreade abrode: weste, easte, north, and south. And thorowe the and thy sede shal al the kynreds of the earth be blessed.

⁸ and am come downe to deliuer them out of the handes of the Egyptians, & to bringe them out of that land vnto a good lande & a large, & vnto a land that floweth with milke & hony: euen vnto the place of the Cananites Hethites, Amorites, Pherezites, Heuites, & of the Iebusites.

²⁷ I wil sende my feare before the and will kill all the people whether thou shalt go. And I will make all thyne enemies turne their backes vnto the, ²⁸ & I will sende hornettes before the, & they shall driue out of the Heuites, the Cananites & the Hethites before the. ²⁹ I will not cast them out in one yere, lest the lande growe to a wildernesse: & the beastes of the felde multeplye vpon the. ³⁰ But a litle & a litle I wil dryue them out before the, vntyll thou be increased that thou mayst enheret the lande. ³¹ And I wil make thy costes from the red sea vnto the sea of the Philistines and from the deserte vnto the ryuer. I wil deliuer the inhabiters of the lande into thyne hande, & thou shalt dryue them out before the.

³¹ For ye shal go ouer to go & possesse the lande which the Lord your God geueth you, and shall conquere it and dwell therein.

¹⁴ When thou art come vnto the land which the Lord thy God geueth the and enioyest it and dwellest therin: If thou shalt say, I will set a kynge ouer me: lyke vnto all the nations that are aboute me.

⁴ And the Lorde sayed vnto him. This is the laud which I sware vnto Abraham, Isaac, and Iacob sayinge: I wyll giue it to thy sede. I haue shewed it the before thyne eyes: but thou shalt not goo ouer thyther.

³ For they gat not the lande in possessyon thorowe their owne swearde, neyther was it their owne arme that helped them. But thy ryght hande, thyne arme and the lyght of thy countenaunce, because thou haddest a fauoure vnto them.

⁴² Their enemyes oppressed them, and had them in subieccion. ⁴³ Many a tyme did he delyuer them but they prouoked him wyth theyr owne inuencyons and were broughte downe for theyr wyckednesse. ⁴⁴ Neuertheles when he saw their aduersitie he herd their complaynt. ⁴⁵ He thought vpon hys couenaunt, and pytyed them, accordyng vnto the multytude of hys mercyes.
