¹⁶ And they aunswered Iosua sayinge: All that thou byddest vs, we wyll do, and whether soeuer thou sendest vs, we wyll go.

²⁵ And the chyldren of Gad and of Ruben spake vnto Moses sayinge: thy seruauntes wyl do as my Lorde commaundeth.

²⁷ Go thou and heare all that the Lorde oure God sayeth, and tell thou vnto vs all that the Lorde oure God sayth vnto the, and we wyl hear it and do it.

¹ Let euery soule submit him selfe vnto the authoritie of the hygher powers. For there is no power but of God. ² The powers that be are ordeyned of God. Whosoeuer therfore resisteth power, resisteth the ordinaunce of GOD. And they that resiste, shall receyue to them selfe damnacyon. ³ For rulars are not to be feared for good workes, but for euyll. Wylte thou be wyth oute feare of the power? Do well then: and so shalte thou be praysed of the same. ⁴ For he is the minister of GOD, for thy welth. But and yf thou do euyll, then feare: for he beareth not a swearde for noughte, but is the minister of God, to take vengeaunce on them that do euyll. ⁵ Wherfore ye muste nedes obeye, not for feare of vengeaunce onelye, but also because of conscience.

¹³ Submyt youre selues vnto all maner ordinaunce of man for the Lordes sake, whether it be vnto the kynge as vnto the chiefe heade: ¹⁴ other vnto rulars, as vnto them that are sent of hym, for the punyshemente of euyll doars: but for the laude of them that do wel. ¹⁵ For so is the wyll of God, that ye put to sylence the ignorauncye of the folyshe men:
