⁶ And the Lorde sayde vnto Iosua, be not afrayd of them, for to morowe aboute thys tyme I wyl delyuer them al slayne, before al Israel, and thou shalt hough their horsses, & burne their charettes wyth fyre.

¹⁶ And to morow ye shall go doune to them: se, they come vp at Ziz, & ye shall mete them in the flagges of the broke before the wyldernesse of Ieruel.

⁷ Some put their trust in charettes, & some in horses: but we will remembre the name of the Lorde oure God. ⁸ They are broughte doune and fallen, but we are rysen and stande vp right.

¹ Of Dauid. The Lorde is my lyghte and my health: whome then shoulde I feare? the Lorde is the strength of my life, for whom then shuld I be afraied? ² Therfore when the wycked, euen myne enemies and my foes, came vpon me, to eate vp my flesh, stombled and fell.

⁹ He hath made warres to cease in all the worlde: he hathe broken the bowe, he hathe knapped the speare in sonder, and brente the charettes in the fyre.

¹¹ The Lord of hostes is with vs, the God of Iacob is our defence. Selah.

¹⁰ He hath no pleasure in the strengthe of an horse, neither deliteth he in any mans legges. ¹¹ But the Lordes delyte is in them that feare hym, and put their trust in his mercy.

⁷ Who so leadeth a godly and an innocent lyfe, happy shal his chyldren be whome he leaueth behynde hym.

¹⁶ Notwithstandynge ye regarde it not, but ye wyll saye: No, for thus are we constrayned to fle vpon horses. And therfore shall ye fle, we muste ryde vpon swift beastes, and therfore youre persecutours shal yet be swyfter.

¹ Wo be vnto them that go doune into Egypte for help, and trust in horses, & comforte themselues in charettes, because they be many, & in horse men because they be lusty & strong. But they regarde not the holy one of Israel, and they aske no question at the Lorde.

³ Assur shalbe no more oure helper, nether wyl we ryde vpon horses any more. As for the worckes of our handes, we wil no more cal vpon them: For it is thou that arte oure God, thou shewest euer mercye vnto the fatherlesse.
