³⁰ Yf thou be innocent, he shall saue the: and thorow the vngyltinesse of thyne handes shalt thou be delyuered.

²⁶ And the Lorde sayde: If I fynde in Sodome .l. ryghtwes wythin the cytie, I wyll spare all the place for their sakes. ²⁷ And Abraham answered & sayd: behold I haue taken vpon me to speake vnto the Lord, & yet am but dust and asshes. ²⁸ What though there lacke .v. of .l. ryghtwes, wylt thou destroy al the cyte for lacke of .v.? And he sayde: I wyll not do it for fourtyes sake. ³⁰ And he sayde: O let not my Lorde be angry, that I speake. What yf there be founde .xxx. there? And he sayde: I wyll not do it, yf I fynde .xxx. there. ³¹ And he sayd: Oh, se, I haue begonne to speake vnto my Lorde, what yf there be .xx. found there? And he sayd: I wyll not destroye them for twenties sake. ³² And he sayde: O let not my Lorde be angrye, that I speake yet, but euen once more oulye. What yf ten be found there? And he sayde: I wyll not destroy them for .x. sake.

⁷ Now when the Lord had spoken these wordes vnto Iob, he sayde vnto Elephas the Themanite: I am displeased with the & thy two frendes, for ye haue not spoken the thyng that is right before me, lyke as my seruaunte Iob hath done. ⁸ Therfore take .vij. oxen & .vij. rammes, and go to my seruaunte Iob: offre vp also for your selues a brentofferynge: & let my seruaunte Iob praye for you. Hym wyll I accepte, & not deale with you after youre folishnesse: in that ye haue not spoken the thynge whiche is right, like as my seruaunt Iob hath done.

²⁰ The Lorde shall rewarde me after my righteous dealynge, and accordynge to the clennesse of my handes shall he recompense me.

⁴ Euen he that hath innocent handes and a cleane hert: which lifteth not vp his minde vnto vanite, and sweareth not to disceaue.

¹⁵ Though ye holde oute your handes, yet turne I myne eyes from you. And though ye make manye prayers, yet heare I nothynge at all, for youre handes are full of bloude.

¹² Then the places that haue euer bene waste, shalbe buylded of the: there shalt thou lay a foundacion for many kinredes: thou shalt be called the maker vp of hedges, and the buylder againe of the waye of the Sabboth.

¹ Loke thorow Ierusalem, beholde and se: Seke thorow the her stretes also wythin, yf ye can fynde one man, that doth equall and right, or that laboureth to be faythfull: and I shall spare hym (sayeth the Lorde.)

⁹ And now make your prayer before God, that he may haue mercy vpon vs: for suche thinges haue ye done. Shal he regarde your personnes, thyncke ye, sayeth the Lorde of hostes?

¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Iesus secretly and sayd: Why coulde not we cast hym out? ²⁰ Iesus sayd vnto them: Because of your vnbelefe. For I saye verely vnto you: if ye hadde faith as a grayn of a mustard seede, ye should say vnto thys mountayne, remoue hence too yonder place, and it shoulde remoue, neyther shoulde any thyng be impossible for you too do.

¹⁵ And the euyl spirite answered and said: Iesus I know and Paull I know: but who are ye? ¹⁶ And that man in whom the euyll spyryte was ranne on them and ouercame them, and preuayled agaynste them, so that they fledde out of that house naked and wounded.
