²⁹ For who so humbleth hym selfe, him shall he set vp: and who so loketh mekely, shalbe healed.

¹⁹ He delyuereth the oute of syxe troubles so that in the seuenth there can no harme touch the. ²⁰ In the middest of honger he saueth the from death: and when it is warre, from the power of the swearde. ²¹ He shal kepe the from the perlous tonge that so when trouble commeth, thou shalt not nede to feare. ²² In destruccion & derth thou shalt be mercy, & shalt not be afrayed for the beastes of the earth: ²³ But the castels in the land shal be confederate with the, & the beastes of the felde shall geue the peace. ²⁴ Ye thou shalt knowe, that thy dwellinge place shalbe in reste: thou shalt beholde thy substaunce, & be nomore punished for synne ²⁵ Thou shalt se also, that thy sede shall encrease, and that thy posteryte shalbe as the grasse vpon the earth. ²⁶ Thou shalt come to thy graue in a fayre age, lyke as the corne sheeues are brought into the barne in due season. ²⁷ Lo, this is the matter, as we oure selues haue proued by experience. Therfore now that thou hearest it, take better hede to thy selfe.

² I will be glad, and reioyse in the, yea, my songes wil I make of thy name O thou moost hyest. ³ Because thou hast dryuen myne enemyes abacke, they were disconfited, and perished at thy presence.

¹⁴ Because he hath set his loue vppon me, I shall deliuer hym: I shal defende him, for he hath knowen my name. ¹⁵ When he calleth vpon me, I shall heare hym: yea, I am with hym in hys trouble, wherout I will deliuer him, and bring hym to honoure. ¹⁶ With longe lyfe will I satisfye him, and shewe hym my saluacion.

⁹ For lo, thyne enemyes, O Lord, lo, thyne enemyes shall perishe, and all the workers of wickednes shalbe scatred abroade. ¹⁰ But my horne shalbe exalted like the horne of an Vnicorne, & shalbe anoynted wyth fresh oyle. ¹¹ Myne eye also shall se hys luste of myne enemyes, and myne eare shall heare his desire of the wicked that ryse vp agaynst me.

⁶ For though the Lorde be hye, yet hath he respecte vnto the lowly: as for the proude, he beholdeth theim a farre of.

²³ After pryde commeth a fal, but a lowly spirit bringeth great worshippe.

¹⁵ For thus sayeth the hye and excellent, euen he that dwelleth in euerlastingnesse, whose name is the holy one. I dwell hye aboue & in the sanctuary, and with him also, that is of a contrite & humble spirite: that I maye heale a troubled mind, & a contrite hert.

² As for these thynges, my hande had made them all, and they are all created, sayeth the Lorde. Whyche of them shall I then regarde? Euen hym, that is of a lowly troubled spyryte, and standeth in awe of my wordes.

²⁶ Thus sayeth the Lorde God: take away the myre, and put of the croune, and so is it awaye: the humble is exalted, and the proude brought low. ²⁷ Punish punyshe, yea punish them will I, and destroy them: and that shall not be fulfilled vntyll he come, to whome the iudgement belongeth, & to whome I haue geuen it.

¹² But whosoeuer exalteth hym selfe: shalbe brought lowe, and he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

⁵² He putteth doune the mightye from their seates, and exalteth them of low degre.

⁹ And he put forth thys similytude vnto certayne, which thrusted in them selues that they were perfecte, and despyseth other. ¹⁰ Two men went vp into the temple to praye, the one a pharise and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharyse stode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God I thanke the, that I am not as other men are, extorsioners, vniust, aduouterers, or as this publican, ¹² I faste twyse in the weke, I geue tythe of all that I possesse. ¹³ And the Publicane stode a farre of, and woulde not lyft vp his eyes to heauen, but smote his brest, saiynge: God be mercifull to me a synner. ¹⁴ I tell you: this man departed home to hys house iustifyed more then the other. For euerye man that exalteth hym selfe, shalbe brought lowe. And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

⁶ but geueth more grace.

⁵ Lykewyse ye yonger submit youre selues vnto the elder. Submit youre selues euerye man, one to another, knyt youre selues together in lowlines of mynde. For God resisteth the proude & geueth grace to humble.
