²¹ But yf thou wylt not go forth, the Lord hath told me this planely.

³ Then Moses and Aaron went in vnto Pharao, and sayd vnto hym: Thus sayth the Lorde God of the Hebrues: howe longe shall it be or thou wylt submit thy selfe vnto me? Let my people go that they may serue me. ⁴ If thou wylt not lette my people go: beholde, to morrowe wyll I brynge greshoppers into thy lande,

²⁸ Then the Lorde said vnto Moses: how long shall it be yer ye wyl kepe my commaundementes & lawes?

¹⁹ The Lorde is not a man, that he can lye, neither the sonne of man that he can repente: should he saye and not do, or shoulde he speake and not make it good? ²⁰ beholde, I haue begone to blesse and haue blessed, and can not goo backe therefro.

¹³ If Balac would giue me his house full of syluer and gold, I can not passe the mouth of the Lorde, to do eyther good or bad of myne owne mynde. What the Lord saith, that must I speake.

¹³ It is he him selfe alone, who wyll turne hym back? He doth as him listeth, and bryngeth to passe what he will.

³³ Wylte thou not geue a reasonable aunswere? Art thou afrayed of anye thynge, seynge thou begannest fyrste to speake, & not I?

²⁴ Seing then that I haue called & ye refused it: I haue stretched out my hand, & no man regarded it, ²⁵ but all my counsayls haue ye despysed, & set my corrections at naught. ²⁶ Therfore shall I also laugh in your destruccion, & mocke you, when the thyng that ye feare cometh vpon you: ²⁷ euen when the thing that ye be afrayed of, falleth in sodenly lyke a storme, & your miseri like a tempest: yea, when trouble & heuinesse commeth vpon you. ²⁸ Then shal they call vpon me, but I will not heare: they shal seke me early, but thei shal not find me: ²⁹ And that because thei hated knowlege, & receyued not the feare of the Lord, ³⁰ but abhorred my counsail, & despised my correction. ³¹ Therfore shal they eate the frutes of their owne way, & be filled with their oune counsayls:

¹⁹ Is it not so? If ye be louynge and obedyent, ye shall enioye the best thynge that groweth in the lande. ²⁰ But yf ye be obstynate and rebellyous, ye shalbe deuoured wt the swerde: for thus the Lorde hath promysed wyth hys owne mouthe.

³ Where as thou (O Lorde) lokest only vpon faythe and truthe. Thou hast scourged them, but they toke no repentaunce: thou hast correcte them for amendement, but they refused thy correccion. They made their faces harder then a stone, and woulde not amende.

¹⁹ Vpon these wordes, thus sayde the Lorde vnto me: If thou wylt turne agayne, I shall set the in my seruyce: and yf thou wylt take out the thynge that is precious from the vile, thou shalt be euen as myne owne mouth. They shall conuerte vnto the, but turne not thou vnto them: ²⁰ & so shall I make the a stronge wall of stele agaynst this people. They shall fyght agaynst the, but they shall not preuayle. For I my selfe will be with the, to helpe the, and delyuer the, sayeth the Lorde. ²¹ And I wyll rydd the out of the handes of the wycked, and delyuer the out of the hande of Tirauntes.

¹⁵ But thys shal ye know: yf ye put me to death ye shall make youre selues, thys cytye and al the inhabytours thereof, gyltye of innocente bloude. For thys is of a trueth: that the Lorde hath sente me vnto you, to speake al these wordes in youre eares.

⁴ Yee I will sende the vnto a people that haue rough disages and styf stomackes: vnto whom thou shalt saye on this maner: This the Lorde God hym selfe hath spoken, ⁵ that whether they be obedyent or no (for it is a frowarde housholde) they maye knowe yet that there hath bene a Prophet amonge them.

⁷ Se that thou speake my wordes vnto them, whether they be obedyent or not, for they are obstynate.

¹⁷ Thou sonne of man I haue made the a watchman vnto the house of Israell: therfore take good hede to the wordes, and geue them warnyng at my commaundement. ¹⁸ If I sayde vnto the, concernynge the vngodly man: that (wythout doute) he muste dye, and thou geuest hym not warnynge, ner speakest vnto hym, that he maye turne from hys euell waye, and so to lyue: Then shalll the same vngodly man dye in hys owne vnryghtuousnes: but hys bloude wyll I requyre of thyne hande. ¹⁹ Neuertheles, yf thou geue warnynge vnto the wycked, and he yet forsake not his vngodlynesse: then shall he dye in his owne wyckednesse, but thou hast discharged thy soule.

⁶ And when they sayde contrary and blasphemed, he shoke his raymente and sayed vnto them, youre bloude vpon youre owne heades, & frome henceforth I go blameles vnto the gentils.

²⁶ Wherfore I take you to recorde this same daye that I am pure from the bloud of all men. ²⁷ For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.

²⁵ Se that ye despyse not hym, that speaketh. For yf they escaped not whiche refused hym, that spake on earth: muche more shall we not escape, yf we turne awaye from hym that speaketh from heauen:
