¹⁶ which is not made after the lawe of the carnall commaundement: but after the power of the endelesse lyfe.

³ Euen so we as longe as we were chyldren, were in bondage vnder the ordinaunces of the world.

⁹ But nowe seynge, ye knowe God (yea rather are knowen of God) how is it that ye turne agayne to the weake & beggerly ceremonies, wherevnto agayne ye desyre a freshe to be in bondage?

¹⁴ And hath put out the hande wryttinge that was againste vs, contayned in the lawe wrytten, and that hath he taken out of the waye, and hath fastened it to his crosse,

²⁰ Wherfore yf ye be deade wyth Christe from the ordinaunces of the world, why as though ye yet liued in the worlde, are ye ledde wyth tradicions of them that saye?

³ wythoute father, wythout mother, wythout kynne, & hath neyther begynnyng of hys tyme, neyther yet ende of hys lyfe: but is lykened vnto the sonne of God, and contynueth a prieste for euer.

²⁴ But thys man, because he endureth euer hath an euerlastyng priestehode. ²⁵ Wherfor he is able also euer to saue them that come vnto God by hym, seyng he euer lyueth, to make intercessyon for vs.

²⁸ For the lawe maketh men priestes, which haue infyrmytye: but the worde of the othe that came sence the lawe, maketh the sonne pryeste, whiche is perfecte for euermore.

⁹ Whyche was a simylytude for the tyme then present, and in whyche were offered gyftes and sacrifices that coulde not make the mynyster perfecte, as pertaynynge to the conscience, ¹⁰ wyth onelye meates and drynkes and dyuers washynges and iustifiynges of the fleshe, whyche were ordeyned vntyll the tyme of reformacyon.

¹ For the lawe whyche hath but the shadowe of good thinges to come, and not the thynges in theyr owne fashyon can neuer wyth the sacrifyces whych they offer yere by yere continuallly, make the commers thereunto perfect.

¹⁸ and am alyue, and was dead. And beholde I am alyue for euer more and haue the kayes of hell, & of death.
