¹ In the seconde yeare of Kynge Darius, in the .vi. moneth, the first day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lorde (by the Prophete Aggeus) vnto Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel the prynce of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye prieste, sayinge:

¹³ But he sayed: oh my Lord, send I pray the whom thou wylt.

¹⁸ And all Israel buryed hym, and lamented hym, accordyng to the worde of the Lorde which he spake by the hande of hys seruaunt Ahiah the Prophete.

²⁵ He restored the coastes of Israel from the enterynge of Hemath vnto the sea, in the wylde feldes, accordynge to the worde of the Lorde God of Israell whiche he spake thorow hys seruaunt Ionah the sonne of Amithai the Prophete, which was of Geth Opher.

¹⁷ The sonnes of Ieconiah the Presoner were Salathiel,

¹⁹ The sonnes of Phadaiah were Zorobabel and Semei. The sonnes of Zorobabel, Mosolam, Hananiah and Salumith theyr syster,

¹⁴ Azariah begat Saraiah, Saraiah begat Iehozedec ¹⁵ whiche Iehozedec when the Lorde caried awaye Iuda and Ierusalem by the hand of Nabuchodonozor, went wyth them.

⁸ But Cyrus the kynge of Persia brought them forth by Mithridates the treasurer, & numbred them vnto Selbazar the prynce of Iuda.

² and came with Zorobabel Iesua, Nehemiah, Saraiah, Raelaiah, Mardochai, Belfan, Mesphar, Begauai, Rehum, and Baanah. This is now the nombre of the men of the people of Israel.

⁶³ And Hathirsatha sayde vnto them, that they shoulde not eate of the moste holy, til there rose vp a pryest with the light and perfectnesse.

² And there stode vp Iesua the sonne of Iosedec and his brethren the priestes, & Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel & hys brethren, and buylded the aulter of the God of Israell, to offre burntofferynges theron, as it is wrytten in the law of Moses the man of God,

⁸ In the seconde yeare of their commynge vnto the house of God at Ierusalem in the seconde moneth, beganne Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel, and Iesua the sonne of Iosedec, & the remnaunt of their brethren the pryestes and Leuites, and al they that were come oute of the captyuyte vnto Ierusalem, & appoynted the Leuites from twentye yeare old, and aboue, to se, that the worcke of the house of the Lorde went forwarde.

² they came to Zorobabel and to the principal fathers, and saide vnto them: We wyl buylde with you: for we seke the Lorde youre God lyke as ye do. And we haue done sacrifice vnto him, sence the tyme that Asor Hadon the Kinge of Assur broughte vs vp hyther.

²⁴ Then ceased the worck of the house of God at Ierusalem, and contynued so vnto the second year of Darius kynge of Persia.

¹⁴ And the Elders of the Iewes builded, and they prospered thorowe the Prophesyenge of Aggeus the Prophet and Zachari the sonne of Ado: and they buylded, and set vp the worcke, accordinge to the commaundemente of the God of Israel, and after the commaundement of Cyrus, Darius & Arthaxerses kinges of Persia.

¹⁴ And from the tyme forth that it was commytted vnto me to be a captayne in the lande of Iuda, namely from the twentyeth year vnto the two and thyrtyeth yeare of kynge Arthaxerses (that is twelue yeare) I and my brethren lyued not of suche sustenaunce as was geuen to a captayne.

⁷ which came with Zorobabel: Iesua, Nehemiah, Asariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, mardochee Belsan, Mesparath, Beguai, Nahum & Baanah. This is the nombre of the men of the people of Israel.

⁹ And Nehemiah (whyche is Hathirsatha) & Esdras the prest and scrybe, and the Leuites that caused the people to take hede, sayde vnto all the people: thys daye is holy vnto the Lord youre God: be not ye sory therfore, & wepe not. For all the people wepte when they hearde the wordes of the lawe.

¹ These are the priestes & Leuytes that wente vp with Zorobabell the sonne of Salathiell & wyth Iesua: Saraiah, Ieremye, Esdras,

¹⁰ Iesua begat Ioakim. Ioakim begat Eliasib. Eliasib begat Ioiada.

¹² Now when Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel, and Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest with the remnaunte of the people, heard the voyce of the Lorde theyr God, and the wordes of the Prophete Aggeus (lyke as the lorde theyr God hath sent him) the people dyd fear the Lorde.

¹⁴ So the Lorde waked vp the spryte of Zorobabel the prince of Iuda, and the sprete of Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest, and the sprete of the remnaunte of all the people: that they came, and laboured, in the house of the Lorde of Hostes theyr God.

¹ the .xxi. daye of the seuenthe moneth, came the worde of the Lorde vp the prophete Aggeus, saying: ² speake to Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel prince of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest, & to the resydue of the people, and saye:

⁴ Neuerthelesse be of good chere O Zarobabel (sayeth the Lorde) be of good comforte, O Iesua thou sonne of Iosedech hye pryest: take good hertes vnto you also, all ye people of the lande, sayeth the Lorde of hostes

¹⁰ The .xxiiij. daye of the .ix. moneth in the seconde yeare of kynge Darius, came the word of the Lorde vnto the Prophete Aggeus, sayinge:

²⁰ Moreouer the .xxiiij. daye of the moneth came the worde of the Lorde vnto Aggeus agayne, sayinge:

⁶ He aunswered, and sayde vnto me: Thys is the word of the Lorde vnto Zorobabel, saying: Nether thorowe an hoste of men, nor thorow strength, but thorowe my sprete, sayeth the Lorde of hoostes. ⁷ What art thou, thou greate mountayne, before Zorobabel: thou must be mayde euen. And he shall brynge vp the fyrst stone, so that men shall crye vnto hym: good lucke, good lucke. ⁸ Moreouer the worde of the Lorde came vnto me, sayinge: ⁹ The handes of Zorobabel haue layed the foundacyon of thys house, his handes shal also fynysh it, that ye may know how that the Lorde of hostes hath sent me vnto you. ¹⁰ For he hath ben dispysed a lytle season, shall reioyce, when he seyth the tynne weyght in Zorobabels hande. The .vij. eyes are the Lordes, whiche go thorowe the whole worlde.

¹² And after they were brought to Babylou Iechonias begat Salathiel: Salathiel begat zorobabel: ¹³ zorobabel begat Abiud: Abiud begat Eliachim: Eliachim begat Azor:
