⁴ And they sayed come on, let vs builde a citye & a tower, that the toppe may reach vnto heuen. And let vs make vs a name for peraduenture we shall be scatered abrod ouer al the erth.

⁴ There were tyrantes in the world in those dayes. For after that the chyldren of god had gone in, vnto the daughters of men, & had begotten them chyldren, the same chyldren were the mightiest of the world, & men of renowne.

⁸ Thus the Lorde skattered them from thence vpon all the earth. And they left of to builde the city. ⁹ Wherefore the name of it is called Babell, bycause that the Lorde there confounded the tonge of al the world. And bicause that the Lorde from thence scatered them abrode vpon all the earth.

²⁸ How shall we goo vp? Oure brethren haue discorraged oure hertes sayinge: the people is greater and taller then we, and the cyties are greate and walled euen vp to heauen, & moreouer we haue sene the sonnes of the Enakimes there.

²⁷ And the Lorde shal scatter you among nations, & ye shalbe left fewe in numbre among the people whyther the lord shal bryng you,

¹ Heare Israell, thou goest ouer Iordan thys daye, to go & conquere nations greater & mightyer then thy selfe, and cytyes great and walled vp to heauen,

¹³ And Dauid made hym a name after he returned from the slaughter of the Syryans in the valey of Salt where he slew .xviij. thousand men.

¹¹ Loke what is in their houses, it contynueth still: their dwellyng places endure from one generacion to another, and are called after their owne names vpon the earth. ¹² Neuerthelesse man abydeth not in suche honour, but is compared vnto the brute beastes, and becommeth lyke vnto them. ¹³ This waye of theirs is very folyshnesse, and yet their posteritie prayse it wyth theyr mouth. Selah.

⁹ For lo, thyne enemyes, O Lord, lo, thyne enemyes shall perishe, and all the workers of wickednes shalbe scatred abroade.

⁷ The memoryall of the iust shall haue a good reporte but the name of the vngodly shal styncke.

¹¹ whiche was verye hye, greate and myghtye: the heygth reached vnto the heauen, and the bredth extended to all the endes of the earthe,

²² Euen thou (O kynge) arte the tre, great & stronge. Thy greatnesse increaseth, and reacheth vnto the heauen, so doth thy power to the endes of the earthe.

³⁰ and sayde: Thys is the greate cytye of Babilon, which I my selfe (wyth my power & strengthe) haue made a kynges courte, for the honour of my magestye.

⁵¹ He sheweth strength with his arme, he scattereth them that are proude in the ymagynacion of their hertes.

⁴⁴ Howe can ye beleue which receyue honoure one of another, and seke not the honoure that commeth of God onlye?
