¹ Then .xiiij. yeares after that, I went vp agayne to Hierusalem with Barnabas, and toke with me Titus also.

³⁶ And Ioses who was also called of the Apostles Barnabas (that is to say the sonne of consolation) beynge a Leuite, and of the country of Cipers, ³⁷ had lande, and solde it, and laied the pryce doune at the Apostles fete.

²⁵ Then departed Barnabas to Tharsus for to seke Saul.

³⁰ Whiche thynge they also dyd, and sente it to the elders, by the handes of Barnabas and Saule.

²⁵ And Barnabas and Paul returned to Hierusalem, when they had fulfylled theyr offyce, and toke with them Iohn whiche also called Marcus.

² As they ministred to the Lorde and fasted, the holy ghost sayde: separate me Barnabas and Saule, for the worke where vnto I haue called them.

⁵⁰ But the, Iewes moued the worshypfull and honorable women, & the chiefe men of the citie, and raysed persecucion agaynste Paule and Barnabas, & expelled them out of theyr costes.

¹² And they called Barnabas Iupiter and Paul Mercurius, because he was the preacher.

² And when there was rysen dissention and disputyng not a lytle vnto Paul and Barnabas against them. They determyned that Paule and Barnabas, and certayne other of them, should ascende to Hierusalem vnto the Apostles and elders about this question. ³ And after they were brought on theyr waye by the congregacyon, they passed ouer Phenices and Samaria declarynge the conuersyon of the Gentyls, and they brought great ioye vnto all the brethren. ⁴ And when they were come to Ierusalem, they were receyued of the congregacyon, and of the Apostles and elders. And they declared what thynges God had done by them.

²⁵ It semed therfore to vs a good thynge, when we were come together with one accord to sende chosen men vnto you, with our beloued Barnabas and Paule,

³⁶ But after a certayne space, Paule sayd vnto Barnabas: Let vs go agayn and visite our brethren in euery citie where we haue shewed the worde of the Lorde, and se howe they do. ³⁷ And Barnabas gaue counsell to take with them: Iohn called also Marke. ³⁸ But Paule thoughte it not mete to take hym vnto theyr companye whiche departed from them at Pamphilia, and went not with them to the worke. ³⁹ And the dissencyon was so sharpe betwene them, that they departed a sunder one from the other, so that Barnabas toke Marke and sayled vnto Cypers.

⁶ Either onely I and Barnabas haue not power this to do?

¹⁶ Thankes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus the same good mynde towarde you.

²³ The greate confydence whiche I haue in you hath caused me thus to do, partely for Tytus sake, whiche is my felowe and helper as concernynge you, partely because of other which are oure brethren, and the messengers of the congregacyons, and the glorye of Christe.

¹⁸ Then after .iij. yere I returned to Ierusalem to se Peter and abode with hym .xv. dayes,

³ Also Tytus which was wt me, though he were a Greke, yet was not compelled to be circumcysed,

¹³ And the other Iewes dissembled lykewyse, in so muche that Barnabas was brought into theyr simulacyon also.

¹⁰ Aristarchus my pryson felowe saluteth you and Marcus, Barnabas sisters sonne: touching whom ye receiued commaundementes. Yf he come vnto you, receiue him,

⁴ To Titus hys naturall sonne in the common fayth. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the father and from the Lorde Iesu Christe oure sauyoure.
