¹⁵ Thou shalt not steale.

¹⁶ He that stealeth a man & selleth him (if it be proued vpon hym) shalbe slayne for it,

¹ And the Lord talked with Moses sayinge: ² when a soule synneth and trespaceth agaynste the Lorde, and denyeth vnto hys neyghboure that whyche was taken hym to keepe, or that was putte vnder hys hande, or that whych he hath violently taken away, or that which he hath deceaued his neighbour of wt soteltie, ³ or hathe founde that whych was lost and denyeth it, & sweareth falsly in whatsoeuer thinge it be that a man doth & synneth therin. ⁴ Then when he hath synned or trespaced, he shall restore agayne that he toke violently awaye, or the wrong which he dyd, or that whych was deliuered him to kepe, or the lost thyng whiche he found, ⁵ or whatsoeuer it be about whyche he hath sworne falselye he shall restore it agayne in the whole somme, and shall adde the fyfte part more thereto, and giue it vnto hym to whome it pertayneth, the same daye that he offereth for his trespace, ⁶ & shal bryng for hys trespace offerynge vnto the Lorde a ram wythout blemysh out of the flocke, that is estemed worth a trespace offering vnto the prieste. ⁷ And the prieste shall make an attonemente for hym before the Lorde, and it shall be forgeuen hym, in whatsoeuer thynge it be that a man doth & trespaceth therin.

¹¹ Ye shal not steale nether lye, nether deale falsely one with another.

¹³ Thou shal not begyle thy neyghbour wyth cauyllacions, nether robbe him violently, nether shall the workmans laboure abyde with the vntyl the mornyng.

³⁵ Ye shall do no vnryghteousnes in iudgement nether in meteyearde, weyght or measure. ³⁶ But ye shall haue true balances, true weyghtes, A true Epha and a true hyn. I am the Lorde youre God whyche broughte you out of the lande of Egypt, ³⁷ that ye shuld obserue all myne ordinaunces and iudgementes and that ye shulde kepe them: I am the Lorde.

⁷ If any man be found stealyng any of hys brethren the chyldren of Israel, & maketh cheuesaunce of hym or selleth him, the thefe shall dye. And thou shalt put euell away from the.

¹³ Thou shalbe not haue in thy bagge two maner of weyghtes, a great & a smal, ¹⁴ nether shalt thou haue in thine house dyuerse measures, a great & a small. ¹⁵ But thou shalt haue a perfect and a iust measure: that thy dayes may be lenghthed in the land which the Lord thy God geueth the. ¹⁶ For all that do suche thynges & all that do vnryght, are abhomynacion vnto the Lord thy God.

¹⁹ And why? he hath oppressed the poore, and not helped them: houses hath he spoyled, and not builded them. ²⁰ Hys bely could neuer be fylled, therfore shall he perish in his coueteousnesse. ²¹ He deuoured so gredely that he lefte nothinge behinde, therfore hys goodes shall not prospere. ²² Thoughe he had plenteousnesse of euery thynge, yet was he poore, and therefore he is but a wretche on euery syde.

¹³ So shal we finde al maner of costely riches, & fil our houses wt spoiles. ¹⁴ Cast in thy lot among vs, we shall haue all one purse. ¹⁵ My sonne, walke not thou with them, refrayn thy fote from their ways.

¹ A false balance is an abhomynation vnto the Lord, but a true weight pleaseth him.

¹⁰ saith the Lorde: they gather together euyll gotten goodes, and laye vp robbery in theyr houses.

⁴ Heare this, O ye that oppresse the poore, and destroye the nedy in the lande, saying: ⁵ When wil the new moneth be gone, that we maye sell vytale, & the Sabboth, that we maye haue scarcenesse of corne: to make the busshell lesse, and the Sycle greater? ⁶ We shal set vp false waightes that we maye gett the poore vnder vs wyth their money, and the nedy also for shues: yee let vs sell the chaffe for corne.

¹⁰ Shulde I not be displeased, for the vnrightuous good in the houses of the wycked, and because the measure hys mynyshed? ¹¹ Or shulde I iustifie the false balaunces and the bagge of disceytfull weyghtes,

³ yet they saye: they do well, when they do euil. As the prince wyll, so sayeth the iudge: that he maye do him a pleasure agayne. The greate man speaketh what his herte desyreth: & the hearers alowe hym.

³ Then sayd he vnto me: This is the cursse that goeth forth ouer the whole earth: for all theues shal be iudged after this boke, & all swearers shalbe iudged accordynge to the same, ⁴ I wyl bring it forth (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) so that it shall come to the house of the these, and to the house of hym, that falselye sweareth by my name, and shall remayne in hys house, and consume it, with the timbre & stones thereof.

¹⁹ For out of the hert come euil thoughtes, murther, breakyng of wedlocke, whoredom, thefte, false, witnes bearing, blasphemye.

¹⁸ The other sayd to him: Which And Iesus sayde: Breake no wedloke, kyll not, steale not: beare not false witues,

¹³ and sayde to them: It is writen, my house shalbe called the house of prayer. But ye haue made it a denne of theues.

¹³ And he sayde vnto them: require nomore then that which is appointed vnto you. ¹⁴ The souldioures lykewyse demaunded of him saiynge: and what shall we do? And he sayde to them: Do violence to no man: neither trouble any man wrongfullye: but be content with your wages.

⁶ Thys sayed he, not that he cared for the poore, but because he was a thiefe, and kepte the bagge, and bare that whiche was geuen.

⁹ For these commaundementes Thou shalte not commyt aduoutrye: Thou shalte not kyll: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalte not beare false wytnesse: Thou shalte not desyre: and so forth (yf there be anye other commaundente) they are all comprehended in thys saiynge: Loue thyne neyghboure as thy selfe.

¹⁰ neither theues, neythe couetous, neither dronkardes, neither cursed speakers, neither pyllars, shall inherete the kyngedome of God.

²⁸ Let hym that stole, steale no more, but let hym rather laboure wyth his handes some good thynge, that he maye haue to geue vnto hym that nedeth.

⁶ that no man go to far and defraude his brother in bargaining: because the Lorde is a reuenger of al suche thinges as we tolde you before tyme and testified.
