⁷ and toke .vi. hundred chosen charettes & all the charettes of Egypte and captaynes vpon al hys people.

²³ And the Egiptians folowed and went in after them to the myddest of the sea, with all Pharaos horsses, & hys charettes & his horssemen.

⁴ Pharaos charettes and his hoste hath he cast in to the sea. Hys iolye captaynes are drowned in the redde sea,

¹⁶ Then the chyldren of Ioseph sayde agayn: the hyll wyll not begoten of vs, for al the Cananites, that dwell in the lowe countreye haue charettes of yron, and so haue they that enhabite Bethsean, and the tounes of the same, and they also that dwel in the valeye of Iezreel. ¹⁷ And Iosua aunswered the house of Ioseph, Ephraim and Manasses sayinge: ye be muche people and haue greate power and shall not therfore haue one lotte. ¹⁸ But the hyll shalbe youres, for it is a woode countreye, and ye shall bryng it to fashion, and it shalbe youres euen vnto the endes of it, for ye shalbe able to cast out the Cananites for all their yron charettes, and for all they be so stronge.

³ And the chyldren of Israel cryed vnto the Lorde: for he had nyne hundred charettes of yron, he oppressed the chyldren of Israel wyth power .xx. yeares.

¹⁵ But the Lorde trounsed Sisara and al his charettes and all hys hoste wyth the edge of the swerde, before Barak. And Sisara lyghted doune of hys charet and fled afore.

⁷ Some put their trust in charettes, & some in horses: but we will remembre the name of the Lorde oure God.

¹⁷ The charettes of God are many .M. tymes thousande, the Lorde is among them in the holy Sinai.

²⁴ Thou with thy seruauntes hast blasphemed the Lord, and thus holdest thou of thy selfe: I couer the hye mountaynes, and sydes of Libanus with my horsmen. And there wyll I cut downe the hye Cedre trees & the fayreste Fyrre trees. I will vp into the heyght of it, & into the chefest of his tymbre woddes.
