And thou goest aboute to destroye a cytie that is as a mother in Israel. Why deuourest thou the enheritaunce of the Lorde. 20 And Ioab answered and sayde: God forbid, God forbid it me, that I should eyther deuoure or destroye it. 21 The matter is not so: But there is a man of mount Ephraim, Seba the sonne of Bochri by name, whiche hath lyfte vp his hand against king Dauid. Delyuer vs him only, and I will depart from the cytye. And the woman sayde vnto Ioab: Beholde, his head shalbe throwen thorow the walle to the. 22 And then the woman went vnto all the people in her wysedome. And they smote of the heade of Seba the sonne of Bochri, & cast it to Ioab. And he blewe a trompet, and they skatered from the cytye, euery man to his tent. And Ioab returned to Ierusalem vnto the kynge.
