⁹ And beware that there be not a poynt of Belial in thine hert, that thou wouldest say. The seuenth yere, the yere of fredome is at hand, & therfore it greues the to loke on thy poore brother and geuest hym nought & he then cry vnto the Lord againste the, and it be synne vnto the:

⁷ Then the Lorde sayed: I haue surelye sene the trouble of mi people which ar in Egipt, and haue heard their cry whyche they haue of their taskemasters. For I know theyr sorow,

²³ If ye shall trouble them: they shall crye vnto me, and I wyll surelye heare their crye

¹ At the end of seuen yere thou shalt make a fre yere. And thys is the maner of the fre yere,

¹⁵ with in thy cyties. Geue him his hyre the same daye, and let not the sonne go doune theron. For he is nedye and therwith susteyneth hys lyfe, lest he crye agaynst the vnto the Lord and it be synne vnto the.

⁵⁴ so that it shal greue the man that is tender and exceadynge delycate amonge you, to loke on hys brother and vpon his wyfe that lyeth in hys bosome, & on the remnaunte of his chyldren which he hath yet lefte, ⁵⁵ for feare of geuynge vnto any of them of the flesh of his children, which he eateth, because he hath noughte lefte him in that straytenes and seyge wherwyth thyne enemyes shall besyege the in all thy cyties. ⁵⁶ Yea, and the woman that is so tender & delycate among you that she dare not aduenture to sett the sole of her foote vpon the grounde for softnesse and tendernesse, shalbe greued to loke on the husbande that lyeth in her bosome and on her sonne & on her daughter:

²⁸ In so muche that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto hym, and nowe he heareth the complaynte of suche as are in necessite.

¹² And why? he maketh inquisicion for their bloude, and remembreth theym: he forgetteth not th complaynte of the poore.

²³ Kepe thyne herte wyth all dilygence, for there vpon hangeth lyfe.

¹³ Who so stoppeth hys eare at the cryenge of the pore he shal cry him selfe and not be herd

⁶ Eat not thou wt the enuious, & desire not his meat,

⁹ The thoughte of the folysh is synne, & the scorneful is an abhominacion vnto men.

²² He that wyll be ritch all to soone, hath an euell eye, and considereth not, that pouertye shall come vpon him.

¹⁰ Euen I the Lorde search out the grounde of the herte, & trye the reynes, and rewarde euery man accordinge to hys wayes, and acordynge to the fruyte of his councels.

¹⁹ For out of the hert come euil thoughtes, murther, breakyng of wedlocke, whoredom, thefte, false, witnes bearing, blasphemye.

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do as me lusteth with myne owne? Is thyne eye euel because I am good?

⁴¹ Then shall the kinge saye vnto them that shalbe on the lyfte hande. Departe from me ye cursed, into euerlastinge fyre, which is prepared for the deuyll and hys angels. ⁴² For I was an hungred and ye gaue me no meate, I thyrsted and ye gaue me no drynke, ⁴³ I was herbourles, and ye lodged me not, I was naked and ye clothed me not, I was sicke and in pryson, and ye vysited me not. ⁴⁴ Then shal they answere him, sayinge: mayster when sawe we the an hungred, or a thyrst or herbourles, or naked, or sicke, or in pryson, and dyd not minister vnto the. ⁴⁵ Then shall he answere them, and saye: Verelye I saye vnto you, in as much as ye dyd it not to one of these little ones: ye dyd it not vnto me.

²¹ For from within, euen out of the herte of men, procede euel thoughtes: aduoutry, fornication, murther, ²² theft, coueteousnes, wickednes, deceyte: vncleanenesse and a wicked eye, blasphemy, pryde, folishenes:

⁸ But synne toke an occasion by the meanes of the commaundement, and wrought in me al maner of concupiscence. For without the lawe, synne was dead. ⁹ I ones liued without lawe. But when the commaundemente came, synne reuyued, & I was deade.

⁵ Eyther do ye thynke that the scrypture sayeth in vayne. The spyryte that dwelleth in you lusteth euen contrarye to enuye:

¹⁷ Therfor to hym that knoweth how to do good, and doeth it not to him it is sinne.

⁴ Beholde the hyre of the labourers which haue reped doun your fieldes (which hyer is of you kept backe by fraude) crieth: & the cryes of them whiche haue reped, are entred into the eares of the Lorde Sabaoth

⁹ Grudge not one agaynst another brethren lest ye be damned. Beholde the iudge standeth before the dore.

⁹ Be ye herberous one to another, & that without grudginge.

¹⁵ Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a man slear. And ye know that no man slear hath eternal life abidinge in him. ¹⁶ Hereby perceyue we loue, that he gaue hys lyfe for vs, & therfore oughte we also to geue our lyues for the brethren. ¹⁷ Whosoeuer hath this worldes good, and seeth his brother haue nede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in hym?
