¹⁴ and I will turne the captyuyte of my people of Israell: they shall repayre the waste cytyes, and haue them in possession: they shal plante vynyardes, and drinke the wine therof: they shal make gardens, & enioye the fruytes of them.

⁶ Oh that the sauynge healthe were geuen vnto Israel out of Sion: Oh that the Lorde woulde delyuer his people out of captiuity. Then shoulde Iacob reioyse, and Israell should be ryght glad.

⁴ They shal builde the longe roughe wyldernes, and set vp the olde deserte, They shal repayre the waste places, & such as haue bene voyde thorow out many generacions.

⁸ The Lorde hath sworne by his right hande, and by his strong arme, that from thence forthe he will not geue thy corne to be meate for thine enemies, nor thy wyne (wherin thou hast laboured) to be dryncke for the straungers. ⁹ But they that haue gathered in the corne shall eate it, and geue thanckes to the Lorde: and they that haue borne in the wyne, shal drincke it in in the court of my sanctuary.

²¹ They shalt buylde houses, and dwell in them: they shall plante vyneyardes, and eate the frute of them.

³ For lo, the time commeth (sayth the Lorde) that I wyl brynge agayne the presonners of my people of Israel and Iuda, sayeth the Lord: For I wyl restore them vnto the lande, that I gaue to theyr fathers, and they shall haue it in possessyon.

¹⁸ For thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, I will set vp Iacobs tentes agayne, and defende his dwellynge place. The cytye shalbe buylded in her olde estate, and the houses shall haue theyr ryghte foundacyon.

²³ For thus sayeth the Lorde of hostes the God of Israell: It wil come therto, that when I haue brought Iuda oute of captyuyte, these wordes shalbe hearde in the lande and in his cities: The Lorde, whiche is the fayre brydegrome of ryghtuousnesse, make the frutefull O thou holy hyll:

²⁸ Yea it shall come therto, that lyke as I haue gone about in tymes paste to rote them out, to scatre them, to breake them doune, to destroye them and chasten them: Euen so wyll I also go dylygentlye aboute, to buylde them vp agayne and to plante them, sayeth the Lorde.

³⁸ Beholde the dayes come sayeth the Lorde, that the cytie of the Lord shalbe enlarged from the toure of Hananeel, vnto the gate of the corner wall. ³⁹ From thence shall the ryghte measure be taken before her vnto the hyll toppe of Gareb, and shall come aboute Gaath, ⁴⁰ and the whole, valleye of the dead karcases, and of the ashes, and all Ceremoth vnto the broke of Cedron: and from thence vnto the corner of the horsgate toward the Easte, where as the Sanctuarye of the Lorde also shall be set. And when it is nowe buylded, and set vp of this fashyon it shall neuer be broken, nor caste doune any more.

⁵³ As for their captyuite, namely the captyuite of Sodoma and her doughters: the captiuyte of Samaria and her doughters. I wyll brynge them agayne, so wyl I also brynge agayne thy captiuite amonge them:

²⁶ They shall dwell safely therin, buylde houses, and plante vyneyardes: yea safely shal they dwel therin, when I haue punyshed all those, that despyse them rounde aboute: and then shall they knowe, that I am the Lorde theyr God.

³³ Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lord God: what tyme as I shall clense you from all youre offences, then wyll I make the cytyes to be occupyed agayne, and wyll repayre the places that be decayed. ³⁴ The desolate lande shall be buylded agayne, whiche afore tyme laye waste in the sight of all them that wente by. ³⁵ Then shall it be sayde: this waste lande is become lyke a garden of pleasure, & the voyde, desolate and broken downe cytyes, are now strong, and fensed agayne. ³⁶ Then the resydue of the Heathen that lye rounde aboute you, shall knowe that I am the Lorde, whyche repayre that was broken downe, and plante agayne, that was made waste. Euen I the Lorde haue spoken it, and wyll do it in dede.

²⁵ They shal dwel in the lande, that I gaue vnto Iacob my seruaunt, where as youre fathers also haue dwelt. Yea, euen in the same lande shall they, their chyldren, & their childers chyldren dwell for euermore: and my seruaunt Dauid shalbe their euerlastinge prince. ²⁶ Moreouer, I will make a bonde of peace wyth theym, whiche shalbe vnto them an euerlastinge couenaunt. I will satle them also, and multiply them, my Sanctuary wyll I set amonge them for euermore. ²⁷ My dwellynge shalbe wyth them, yea, I will be their God, and they shal be my people. ²⁸ Thus the Heathen also shall knowe, that I the Lorde am the holy maker of Israel: when my Sanctuary shalbe among them for euermore.

²⁵ Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: Now wyll I brynge agayne the captiues of Iacob and haue mercy vpon the whole house of Israell, and be gelous for my holy names sake.

¹ For take hede: in those dayes & at the same tyme, when I turne agayne the captyuyte of Iuda & Ierusalem: ² I shal gather al people together, & brynge them in the valleye of Iosaphat: and there wyl I reason with them: because of my people & herytage of Israel, whom they haue scatred aboute in the nacyons, and parted my lande,

¹¹ For so muche then as ye oppresse the poore, & robbe him of his best sustenaunce: therfore, where as ye haue buylded houses of square stone, ye shall not dwel in them. Maruelous pleasaunt vyneyardes shal ye plante, but the wyne of them shall ye not drynck: and why?

¹³ Theyr goodes shalbe spoyled, and theyr houses layed waste: they shall buylde houses, and not dwel in them: they shal plant vyneyardes, but not drinck the wyne, therof.
