⁴ and they were all filled with the holye ghoste, and began to speake wyth other tounges, euen as the spyryte gaue them vtteraunce.

¹¹ And the Lord sayed vnto hym: who hath made mans mouthe, or who hath made the dombe or the deaffe, the seynge or the blind? haue not I the Lord? ¹² Go therfore and I wilbe with thy mouth, and teach the what thou shalte saye.

²⁵ And the Lorde came doune in a cloude & spake vnto him, and toke of the sprete that was vpon him, and put it vpon the .lxx. elders. And as the spirite rested vpon them, they prophecied & dyd nought els. ²⁶ But there remayneth .ij. of the men in the host: the one called Eldad, & the other Medad And the spirite rested vpon them for they were of them that were wrytten, but they went not out vnto the tabernacle: and they prophecyed in the hoste. ²⁷ And there ran a younge man & told Moses and saied: Eldad & Medad do prophecye in the hoste. ²⁸ And Iosua the sonne of Nun the seruaunte of Moses which he had chosen out answered and sayed: master Moses, forbyd them. ²⁹ And Moses sayed vnto hym: enuyest thou for my sake? wold God that al the Lordes people coulde prophecye, & that the lord wolde put his spyrite vpon them.

¹⁰ When thei came to the hyll, beholde, the company of prophetes met him, & the sprite of God came vpon him, & he prophesyed among them.

² the spyryt of the Lord spake in me, and his wordes were on my tonge.

¹¹ And therfore the Lorde also shall speake wyth lispynge lippes and with a straunge language vnto this people to whome he spake afore of thys maner.

²¹ I wyll make this couenaunt with them (sayeth the Lorde): My spirite that is come vpon the, and the wordes whyche I haue put in thy mouthe, shall neuer go out of thy mouthe, nor oute of the mouth of thy childers chyldren, from this tyme forth for euermore.

⁷ And the Lorde answered me thus: Saye not so, I am to younge. For thou shalt go to al that I shall sende the vnto, and whatsoeuer I commaund the, that shalt thou speake. ⁸ Be not afrayed of their faces, for I wilbe with the, to delyuer the, sayeth the Lorde. ⁹ And with that, the Lorde stretched oute his hande, and touched my mouthe, and sayde moreouer vnto me. Beholde I put my wordes in thy mouth,

¹¹ And therfore I am so ful of thyne indignacyon (O Lorde) that I maye suffre no longer. Shede oute thy wrath vpon the children that are withoute, and vpon all younge men. Yea the man must be taken presoner with the wife, and the aged with the crepel.

¹¹ and go to the presoners of thy people, speake vnto them, and saye on this maner: Thus the Lorde God hath spoken: whether ye heare, or heare not.

⁸ As for me, I am full of strength, and of the sprete of the Lorde, full of iudment and boldnesse: to shewe the house of Iacob their wyckednesse, and the house of Israell their synne.

¹⁹ But when they deliuer you vp take no thought howe or what ye shall speake, for it shalbe geuen you, euen in that same houre, what ye shal saye.

¹⁷ And these sygnes shall folowe them that beleue. In my name they shall caste oute deuils, & shall speake with newe tonges,

¹⁵ For he shalbe greate in the syght of the Lorde, and shall neyther drinke wyne nor stronge drinke. And he shalbe fylled with the holy ghost, euen in his mothers wombe:

⁴¹ And it fortuned as Elysabeth hearde the salutacion of Marye, the babe spronge in her belly. And Elizabeth was fylled with the holye ghost,

⁶⁷ And his father Zacharias was fylled with the holye ghost, and prophecied sayinge:

¹ Iesus then full of the holye ghost returned from Iordan & was caried of the spyrite into wildernes,

¹² For the holye ghost shal teache you in the same houre, what ye ought to saye.

¹⁵ For I wyll geue you a mouthe and wisdome, where against all youre aduersaries shall not be able to speake nor resyste.

²⁶ But that comforter whiche is the holy ghost (whome my father wil send in my name) he shal teache you all thinges, & brynge all thynges to youre remembraunce whatsoeuer I haue tolde you.

²² And when he had sayd that he brethed on them and sayde. Receyue the holy ghost.

⁵ For Iohn baptysed with water: but ye shal be baptised with the holy ghost, and that wyth in thys feawe dayes.

⁸ but ye shall receiue power of the holy ghost, whiche shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses vnto me in Hierusalem, and in al Iewrye, and in Samary and euen vnto the worldes ende.

¹¹ Grekes, and Arabians: we haue heard them speake: wyth our owne tounges the great workes of God.

⁸ Then Peter full of the holy ghost sayed vnto them: ye rulars of the people, and elders of Israel,

³¹ And assone as they had prayed, the place moued where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the holy ghoste, and they spake the worde of God boldlye.

³ Wherfore brethren, loke ye out amonge you seuen men of honeste reporte, and full of the holye ghoste and wysdome, whyche we maye apoint to this nedfull busines.

⁵ And the saiynge pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephan a man full of faieth and of the holye ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nichanor, and Timon, and Permenas, and Nicholas a conuerte of Antioche.

⁸ And Stephane ful of fayth and power, dyd greate wounders and miracles amonge the people.

⁵⁵ But he beynge full of the holye ghoste: loked vp stedfastly wyth his eyes into heauen, and sawe the glorye of God, & Iesus standynge on the ryghte hand of God,

¹⁷ Ananias went hys waye and entred into the house, and put his handes on him, & said: brother Saul the Lord that appeared vnto the in the waye as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou myghtest receiue thy sight, and be fylled with the holy ghoste.

⁴⁶ For they heard them speake wyth tounges & magnified God. Then aunswered Peter.

¹⁵ And as I began to preach, the holy ghost fell on them, as he dyd on vs at the beginninge.

²⁴ For he was a good man, and ful of the holy ghoste and of faith: and much people was added vnto the Lord.

⁹ Then Saul which also is called Paul being full of the holy ghost set hys eyes on hym,

⁵² And the discyples were fylled wt ioye and with the holy ghoste.

⁶ and Paule layed hys handes vpon them, and the holy Ghoste came on them, and they spake wyth tonges and prophecied,

¹³ The God of hope fil you with all ioye, and peace in beleuynge, that ye maye be ryche in hope thorowe the power of the holye ghoste.

¹⁰ To another power to do miracles. To another prophecie. To another iudgement of spirites. To an other diuerse tounges. To another the interpretation of tounges.

²⁸ And God hath also ordeined in the congregation, fyrst the Apostles, secondarely prophetes, thyrdely teachers then them that do miracles: after that the giftes of healinge, helpers, gouernes, diuersitie of tounges. ²⁹ Are all Apostles? Are all Prophetes? Are all teachers? Are all doers of miracles: ³⁰ Haue al the gyftes of healinge? Do all speake with tounges? Do al interprete?

¹ Thought I speake with tounges of men and angels, and yet had no loue, I were euen as soundinge brasse, or as a tynklinge Cimbal.

⁸ Though that propheciynge fayle, other tounges shall cease, or knowledge vanishe awaye, yet loue falleth neuer awaye.

⁵ I woulde that ye all spake with tounges: but rather that ye prophecyed. For greater is he that prophecieth, then he that speaketh with tounges, excepte he expounde it also, that the congregacion maye haue edifiyng.

¹⁸ I thanke my God, I speake with tounges more then ye all.

²¹ In the lawe it is written, wyth other tounges, and with other lippes wyl I speake vnto thys people, and yet for al that wil they not heare me, sayeth the Lorde. ²² Wherfore, tounges are for a signe, not to them that beleue, but to them that beleue not. Contrarywyse propheciyng serueth not, for them that beleue not: but for them whiche beleue. ²³ Yf therfore when all the congregation is come together, and all speake wyth tounges, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they whyche beleue not: wyll they not saye that ye are out of your wyttes?

²⁶ Howe is it then brethren? When ye come together, euerye man hath his songe, hath his doctryne, hath his tounge, hath hys reuelation, hath hys interpretation. Let al thynges be done vnto edifiynge. ²⁷ If anye man speake wyth tounges, let it be two at ones, or at the moste thre at ones, and that by course: and let another interprete it. ²⁸ But yf there be no interpreter, let him kepe silence in the congregation, and let him speake to him selfe and to God. ²⁹ Let the Prophetes speake two at ones, or thre at ones, and let other iudge. ³⁰ And yf anye reuelation be made to another that sitteth by, let the fyrste holde hys peace. ³¹ For ye maye all prophecye, one by one that all maye learne, and all maye haue comforte. ³² For the spirites of the Prophetes are in the power of the Prophetes.

¹⁹ and to knowe, what is the loue of Christe, whyche loue passeth knowledge, that ye myghte be fulfylled wyth all maner of fulnes, whiche cometh of God.

¹⁸ and be not drounke wt wyne. wherin is excesse, but be fulfylled wyth the spirite,

¹⁸ And praye all wayes wyth all maner prayer and supplicacion: and that in the spirite, and watch therunto with all instaunce and supplication for all sainctes,

¹² vnto which Prophetes it was declared, that not vnto them selues, but vnto vs, they shoulde mynyster the thynges whiche are nowe shewed vnto you of them whiche by the holye ghoste sent doune from heauen, haue preached vnto you the thynges whiche the aungels desyre to beholde.

²¹ For the scrypture came neuer by the wyl of man, but holye men of God spake as they were moued by the holy ghoste.
