¹⁶ For al scripture geuen by inspyracion of God, is profytable to teache, to improue, to amende and to instruct in ryghtuousnes,

³⁶ Oute of heauen he made the hear hys voyce to nurture the, and vpon earth he shewed the his great fire, and thou heardest hys wordes out of the fyre.

² the spyryt of the Lord spake in me, and his wordes were on my tonge.

²⁰ And thou gaueste them thy good spryte to enforme them, & withheldest not thy Manna from theyr mouthe, and gauest them water when they were thyrstye.

⁷ The lawe of the Lorde is a perfecte lawe it quickeneth the soule. The testimonye of the Lorde is true, and geueth wisdome euen vnto babes. ⁸ The statutes of the Lord are ryght, and reioyse the hert: the commaundement of the lord is pure, and geueth lyght vnto the eyes. ⁹ The feare of the Lorde is cleane, and endureth for euer: the iudgementes of the Lord are true and ryghtuous altogether. ¹⁰ More pleasaunt are they then golde, yea then much fyne golde: sweter then hony and the hony combe. ¹¹ These thy seruaunt kepeth, & for kepynge of them there is great reward.

⁹ Beth. Where withall shall a yonge man clense his waye? Euen by rulynge hym selfe after thy worde.

¹¹ Thy wordes haue I hyd wythin my hert that I should not synne against the.

⁹⁷ Mem. O what loue haue I vnto thy law? all the daye longe is my talkyng of it. ⁹⁸ Thou thorow thy commaundement hast made me wyser then myne enemyes, for it is euer by me. ⁹⁹ I haue more vnderstandyng then all my teachers, for thy testimonies are my studye. ¹⁰⁰ Yea, I am wyser then the aged, for I kepe thy commaundementes. ¹⁰¹ I refrayne my fete from euery euell waye, that I maye kepe thy woordes. ¹⁰² I shrynke not from thy iudgementes, for thou teachest me. ¹⁰³ O howe swete are thy woordes vnto my throte? Yea, more then hony vnto my mouth. ¹⁰⁴ Thorow thy commaundementes I gette vnderstandynge, therefore I hate all false wayes.

¹³⁰ When thy woorde goeth forthe, it geueth light & vnderstandyng, euen vnto babes.

²³ For the commaundement is a lanterne, and the lawe a lyghtie, a chastening, and nurtour is the waye of lyfe:

¹⁰ He that forsaketh the ryghte strete, shalbe sore punyshed: and who so hateth correccyon, falleth into death.

³¹ The eare that herkeneth vnto wholsome warnnynge, and enclyneth therto, shal dwell amonge the wyse.

⁷ sayeth the house of Iacob. Is the sprete of the Lorde so cleane awaye? or is he so mynded? Trueth it is, my wordes are frendly vnto them that lyue right:

⁵² Then sayd he vnto them. Therfore euery Scribe which is taught vnto the kyngdome of heauen is lyke an housholder, whiche bringeth forth, out of his treasur, thinges both new & old.

⁴² Iesus sayde vnto them: dyd ye neuer reade in the scriptures. The stone which the buylders refused, the same is set in the principall parte of the corner: thys was the Lordes doynge, and it is meruelous in oure eyes.

³¹ As touchyng the resurreccion of the dead: haue ye not reade what is sayd vnto you of God which sayth: ³² I am Abrahams God, and Isaacks God. & the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the liuynge.

⁴³ He sayed vnto them: how then doeth Dauid in sprite, call him Lorde, sayenge:

⁵⁴ But how then shoulde the scriptures be fulfylled: for so must it be.

⁵⁶ Al this was done that the scriptures of the Prophetes myght be fulfylled.

²⁴ Iesus aunswered and sayed vnto them: Are ye not therfore deceyued, and vnderstande not the scryptures, neyther the power of GOD?

³⁶ for Dauid him self inspired with the holy ghost, sayde: The Lorde sayde to my Lorde, sit on my righthand til I make thyne enemyes thy foote stole.

²⁰ For euerye man that euyll doth, hateth the light: nether commeth to the lyghte: lest his dedes shoulde be reproued.

³⁵ Yf he called them Goddes vnto whom the worde of God was spoken (& the scripture can not be broken)

¹⁶ Ye men and brethren this scripture muste haue nedes ben fulfilled, which the holy ghost through the mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas, whiche was gyde to them that toke Iesus.

²⁵ The same was informed in the waye of the Lorde, and spake feruently in the spirit, and taught diligently the thinges of the Lorde, and knewe but the baptysme of Iohn only.

²⁰ and howe I kept backe nothyng that was profytable, but that I haue shewed you, and taughte you openlye, and at home in your houses,

²⁷ For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.

²⁵ When they agreed not amonge them selues, they departed, after that Paule had spoken one word: Welspake the holy ghoste by Esay the prophet vnto youre fathers, saiyng: go vnto thys people,

²⁰ an infourmer of them whiche lacke discrecyon, a teacher of vnlearned, which haste the ensample of that whiche ought to be knowen, and of the trueth, in the lawe.

² Surelye verye muche. Fyrste vnto them was commytted the word of God.

²³ It is not wryten for hym only, that it was reckened for hym for ryghteousnes: but also rekened to hym for ryghtuousnes:

⁴ Whatsoeuer thynges are wrytten afore tyme, are wrytten for oure learnyng, that we thorowe pacyence and comforte of the scrypture myght haue hope.

⁷ The giftes of the spirite are geuen to euerie man to profite the congregation.

⁸ For the scripture sawe afore hand, that God woulde iustifye the heathen thorow fayth, & therfore shewed before hand glad tydynges vnto Abraham. In the shall all nacyons be blessed.

¹¹ And the very same made some Apostles, some Prophetes, some Euangelistes, some sheperdes, some teachers, ¹² that the saynctes myghte haue all thinges necessarye to worke and ministre wythal, to the edifiynge of the bodye of Christ, ¹³ tyl we euerie one (in the vnitie of fayth, and knowledge of the sonne of God) growe vp into a perfecte man, after the measure of age of the fulnes of Christ. ¹⁴ That we henceforth be no more chyldren, waueringe and caryed wyth euerye wynde of doctryne, by the wylynes of men and craftynes, wherby they laye awayte for vs to deceyue vs. ¹⁵ But let vs folowe the truethe in loue, and in al thinges growe in him which is the head, that is to saye, Christe, ¹⁶ in whom all the body is coupled and knyt together in euerye ioynt, wherwyth one ministreth to another (accordynge to the operation, as euerye parte hath hys measure) and encreaseth the bodye, vnto the edifiynge of it selfe in loue.

¹¹ and haue no fellowshyp wyth the vnfruitfull workes of darckenes: but rather rebuke them. ¹² For it is shame euen to name those thinges, whiche are done of them in secrete: ¹³ but all thinges, when they are rebuked of the lyghte are manifeste. For what soeuer is manifeste, that same is lyght.

²⁵ the euyll in meakenes, and can informe them that resiste: yf that God at any tyme wyll geue them repentaunce for to know the trueth,

² preache the word, be feruent, be it in season or out of season. Improue, rebuke, exhorte, wyth all long suffering and doctryne.

⁷ Wherfore as the holy ghoste sayeth, to daye yf ye shal heare his voice,

¹² For the word of God is quicke and myghty in operacion, and sharper then anye two edged swerde, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding a sonder of the soule and the spirite, and of the ioyntes and the marie, and iudgeth the thoughtes and the ententes of the herte:

¹ Fayth is a sure confydence of thynges which are hoped for, & a certayntye of thynges which are not sene.

¹⁹ We haue also a ryght sure worde of prophesye, whervnto yf ye take hede, as vnto a light, that shineth in a darcke place, ye do wel vntyll the daye dawne, and the daye starre aryse in youre hertes. ²⁰ So that ye fyrste knowe this, that no prophesye in the scripture hath any priuate interpretacion. ²¹ For the scrypture came neuer by the wyl of man, but holye men of God spake as they were moued by the holy ghoste.
