³ Thou therfore suffer affliccyon as a good souldyer of Iesu Christe.

⁷ suffreth all thinge, beleueth all thinges, hopeth al thinges, endureth in all thinges.

⁶ Whether we be troubled for youre consolacion & saluacion, whiche saluacion, sheweth her power in that ye suffer the same afflictions which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted for your consolacion, and saluation,

³ Neuerthelesse thoughe we walke compassed wt the fleshe, yet we ware not fleshly. ⁴ For the weapens of oure warre are not carnal thynges, but thynges myghtye in God to caste doune stronge holdes, ⁵ wherewith we ouerthrowe Imaginations and euerye hye thynge that exalteth it selfe agaynste the knoweledge of God, and brynge into captiuite all vnderstandynge to the obedience of Christe,

¹¹ Put on the armoure of God, that ye maye stande stedfaste agaynste the crafty assautes of the deuyll. ¹² For we wrestle not againste fleshe and bloude: but against rule, agaynst power, and againste worldlye rulers of the darckenes of thys worlde, againste spyrytuall wickednes, for heauenly thynges. ¹³ For thys cause take vnto you the armoure of God, that ye maye be able to resiste in the euyl daye, and stande perfect in al thinges. ¹⁴ Stande therfore, and your loynes gyrde about wyth veritie, hauinge on the breste plate of rightuousnes, ¹⁵ and shoed with shoes prepared by the Gospel of peace. ¹⁶ Aboue all take to you the shelde of fayth, wherwith ye maye quench all the fyrie dartes of the wycked. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of saluacion and the swerd of the spyrite, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ And praye all wayes wyth all maner prayer and supplicacion: and that in the spirite, and watch therunto with all instaunce and supplication for all sainctes,

¹⁸ Thys commaundement committe I vnto the sonne Timotheus, accordyng to the Prophesyes whiche in tyme paste were Prophesyed of the that thou in them shouldest fyght a good fyghte

⁸ Be not ashamed to testifye oure Lorde, neyther be ashamed of me, whiche am bounde for hys sake: but suffre aduersitye also wyth the Gospell thorowe the power of God,

¹⁰ Here fore I suffre all thynges, for the electes sakes, that they myghte also obtayne the saluacyon, which is in Christe Iesus, with eternal glory.

¹¹ persecucyons, and affliccyons which happened vnto me at Antioche, at Iconium and at Lystra: whiche persecucyons I suffered pacyently. And from them all, the Lorde delyuered me.

⁵ But watche thou in all thynges, and suffre aduersitye and do the work of an Euangelist, fulfyll thyne offyce vnto the vtmost.

¹⁵ And so after that he had taryed a longe tyme, he enioyed the promes.

³² Cal to remembraunce the dayes that are passed in the whyche after ye had receyued lyght ye endured a great fyght in aduersities

²⁷ By fayth he forsoke Egypte, and feared not the fearcenes of the kynge. For he endured euen as he had sene hym whiche is inuysyble.

² lokynge vnto Iesus the author and fynysher of our fayth, whiche for the ioye that was set before hym, abode the crosse, and despised the same, and is set doune on the ryght hande of the throne of God. ³ Consydre therfore how that he endureth such speakyng agaynst him of synners least ye should be weryed and faynte in youre myndes.

¹² Happy is the man that endureth in temptacyon, for when he is tryed, he shal receyue the croune of lyfe, which the Lorde hath promised to them that loue hym.
