³ Only at the bydding of the Lorde happened it so to Iuda, to put them out of his syght, for the synne of Manasseh accordinge to all he dyd:

²⁰ Ye thoughte euel vnto me, but God turned it vnto good to brynge to passe, as it is thys daye, euen to saue moche people a lyue.

⁵ Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me:

³³ And I wyl strawe you among the Heathen, and wyl draw out a swerde after you, and youre land shal be waste, and your cityes desolate. ³⁴ Then the Lande shall reioyce in hyr Sabbothes, as longe as it lyeth voyde and ye in youre enemyes lande: euen then shal the Lande kepe holy day and reioyce in hir Sabbothes. ³⁵ And as longe as it lyeth voyde it shall rest, for that it could not rest in your Sabothes, when ye dwelt therin.

²⁶ I cal heauen and earth to recorde vnto you thys day, that ye shal shortely perishe from of the lande whither ye go ouer Iordan to possesse it: ye shal not prolong your daies therin but shal shortly be destroyed. ²⁷ And the Lorde shal scatter you among nations, & ye shalbe left fewe in numbre among the people whyther the lord shal bryng you,

⁶³ And as the Lord reioysed ouer you to do you good & to multyplye you: euen so he wil reioyse ouer you, to destroy you and to bring you to nought. And ye shalbe wasted from of the lande whether thou goest to enioye it.

²⁸ And the Lorde cast them out of their lande in angre, wrath and greate furyousnesse, and cast them in to a straunge land, as it is come to passe this day.

¹⁵ And as all good thynges are come vpon you, which the Lorde youre God promysed you: so shall the Lorde brynge vpon you all euyll vntyl he haue destroyed you from of thys good lande which the Lorde your God hath geuen you

²⁵ Moreouer thinkest thou, that I am come wythoute the byddynge of the Lorde to this place to destroye it? naye: the lord sayde to me, go vp to this lande & destroye it.

² And he dyd that displeased the Lorde, euen after the abhominacions of the Heathen whyche the Lorde caste oute before the chyldren of Israel. And he went ³ and buylt the hilaulters agayne, which Hezekiah hys father had destroyed. And he reared vp aulters to Baal and made groues, as dyd Ahab kinge of Israel. And he bowed him selfe vnto all the hoste of heauen and serued them. ⁴ And he buylt aulters in the verye house of the Lorde, of whiche the Lorde had sayd: In Ierusalem I wil put my name. ⁵ And he buylt aulters vnto all the Hoste of heauen, euen in two courtes of the house of the Lorde. ⁶ And he offered his sonne in fyre, and obserued dismall dayes, and vsed witchcrafte and maintened workers wyth spirites, and tellers of fortuners: and wrought muche wyckednesse in the syght of the Lorde to angre hym. ⁷ And he put an ymage of a groue that he had made, euen in the very temple of whiche the Lorde had sayd to Dauid and to Salomon hys sonne: in thys house and in Ierusalem whiche I haue chosen out of all trybes of Israel, wil I put my name for euer. ⁸ Neither wil I make the fete of Israel moue any more out of the lande whiche I gaue their fathers: so that they wilbe diligent to do al I haue commaunded them, and all the lawe that my seruaunt Moses commaunded them. ⁹ But they herkened not: for Manasseh had led them out of the waye, to do more wyckedly then dyd the heathen people, whiche the Lord destroied from before the chyldren of Israel. ¹⁰ And the Lorde spake by his seruauntes the Prophetes sayinge: ¹¹ because Manasseh kynge of Iuda hath done suche abhominacyons, and hath wrought wyckedly aboue all that the Amorites whyche were before him dyd, and hath made Iuda synne also wyth his ydoles.

²⁶ Notwithstandynge the Lorde turned not from his fearce and great wrath, wherwyth he was angrye against Iuda vpon al the prouocacyons that Manasseh prouoked hym. ²⁷ But the Lorde sayd: I will put Iuda to, out of my syghte, as I haue done Israell, and will cast of thys citie Ierusalem whyche I haue chosen and the house of which I haue sayd, my name shalbe there.

²⁴ And though the armie of Siria came with a smalle companye of men, yet the Lorde deliuered a very great hoste into their handes, because they had forsaken the Lorde God of their fathers. And therto they serued Iehoas accordynge.

¹⁶ And as the prophet spake to him, he sayde to the prohhete: haue men made the of the kynges councell? cease, leste thou be beaten. And the prophete ceased and sayde: I am sure that God hath taken councell to destroye the, because thou hast done this, and obeyest not my councell.

⁵ Wo be also vnto Assur, whiche is a staffe of my wrathe, in whose hande is the roade of my punishement. ⁶ For I shall send him among those ypocrytish people, amonge the people that haue deserued my disfauour shall I send him: that he maye vtterly robbe them, spoyle them, and tread them doune lyke the myre in the strete.

⁷ It is I that created the lyght and darcknes, I make peace & trouble yee euen I the Lorde do all these thinges.

¹⁰ In the beginning of a thynge, I shewe the ende therof: & I tell before, thynges that are not yet come to passe. With one worde is my deuyce accomplyshed, & fulfylleth all my pleasure. ¹¹ I call a byrde out of the East, & all that I take in hande, out of farre countrees, as soone as I commaunde, I brynge it hether: as soone as I thyncke to deuyse a thynge, I do it.

¹ Then spake the Lorde vnto me, & sayde: Though Moses and Samuel stode before me, yet haue I no herte to thys people. Dryue them awaye, that they maye go out of my syght. ² And yf they saye vnto the: Whyther shall we go? Then tell them: The Lorde geueth you thys answere: Some vnto death, some to the swearde, some to honger, some in to captyuyte. ³ For I will bryng foure plages vpon them sayeth the Lorde. The swearde shall strangle them, the dogges shal deuoure them, the foules of the ayre, and beastes of the earth shall eate them vp, and destroye them. ⁴ I wyll scatter them aboute also in all kyngdomes and landes to be plaged, because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekiah kynge of Iuda, for the thinges that he dyd in Ierusalem.

⁶ Crye they oute alarum wyth the trompet in the cytye, and the people not afrayed? Commeth there anye plage in a cytye withoute it be the Lordes doynge?

¹⁰ Vp, get you hence, for here shall ye haue no rest. Because of their Idolatrye they are corrupte, & shall myserably perishe.
