¹² And they made a couenaunt to seke the Lorde God of their fathers, wyth all their hertes, & all their soules:

²⁹ Neuerthelater ye shall seke the Lord your God euen ther, and shall fynde hym it thou seeke hym wyth all thyne herte and wyth all thy soule.

¹² And now Israel what is it that the Lord thy God requireth of the, but to feare the lord thy God and to walke in all hys wayes & to loue him & to serue the Lord thy God with al thyne herte, & with al thy soule,

¹ These are the wordes of the appoyntment which the Lord commaunded Moses to make with the chyldren of Israell in the lande of Moab, besyde the appoyntment which he made with them in Horeb.

¹² that thou shuldest come vnder the appoyntment of the Lorde thy God, & vnder his oth which the Lord the God maketh with the this day.

⁴⁸ & so turne agayne vnto the with all their hertes and all their soules in the land of their enemyes which holde them captyue, and praye vnto the, towarde the land which thou gauest vnto their fathers, & towarde the cytie which thou hast chosen, and house which I haue buylt for thy name:

³ And the kynge stode by a pyller, and made a couenaunt before the Lorde, that they shoulde walke after the Lorde, and kepe his commaundementes and hys wytnesses and hys ordynaunces wyth all their hertes, and al theyr soules, and make good the wordes of the sayde appointmente, that were wrytten in the forsayde boke. And all the people consented to the appoyntment.

⁴ And in their tribulacion they shal turne vnto the Lorde God of Israel and shall seke him, and he shalbe founde of them.

¹⁶ And Iehoiada made a bonde betwene him and all the people and the kynge, to be the Lordes people.

¹⁰ Now haue I in my hert to stryke a couenaunt with the Lorde God of Israel: that his wrath maye cease.

³¹ And the kynge stode at hys standynge & made a couenaunt before the Lorde, to folowe the Lord and to kepe his commaundementes, his wytnesse and his statutes with al his herte and with all hys soule & to fulfyl the wordes of the appoyntment wrytten in the sayde boke. ³² And he made to come forth all that were founde in Ierusalem and Beniamin, and the enhabyters of Ierusalem promesed to kepe the couenaunt of that God whiche was the God of theyr fathers.

³⁸ And in all thys make we a sure couenaunt, and wryte it, and let oure prynces, Leuites, & priestes seale it.

²⁹ and theyr Lordes that had rule of them, receyued it for theyr brethren. And they came to sweare, and to bynde them selues wyth an othe to walke in Gods lawe, whiche was geuen by Moses the seruaunte of God, that they wolde obserue and do accordynge vnto all the commaundementes, iudgementes, and statutes of the Lorde oure GOD:

¹² Ye shal crye vnto me, ye shall go & call vpon me, & I shall heare you. ¹³ Ye shall seke me & fynde me, Yea, yf so be that ye seke me with your whole herte,

⁵ They shall aske the waye to Sion, thyther shall they turne theyr faces, & come and hange vpon the, in a couenaunte that neuer shall be broken.

¹⁴ But thys I confesse vnto the, that after that waye (which they call heresye) so worshyppe I the God of my fathers, beleuynge al thynges which are written in the lawe and the Prophetes,

⁵ And thys they dyd, not as we loked for: but gaue theyr owne selues fyrste to the Lorde, and after vnto vs by the wyl of God:
