⁷ dear children, let no man deceive you: only he that acts justly is just, as he is just.

²⁰ for I declare to you, that except your righteousness shall exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall not enter into the heavenly kingdom.

⁷⁵ in the sincere practice of holiness and justice, all our days.

³⁵ but in every nation, he that feareth him, and acts justly, is acceptable to him.

⁶ who will render to every man according to his actions: eternal life to those, ⁷ who by patient continuance in well doing, seek for glory, honour, and immortality; ⁸ but unto those who are contentious, and do not yield to the truth, but give way to injustice, indignation and wrath,

¹³ for not the bare hearers of the law, but they who observe the law, are such as shall be justified, before God.

¹⁶ by no means. know ye not, that to whom ye subject your selves vassals at command, his vassals you are whom you thus obey; the vassals either of sin to destruction, or of obedience to justification? ¹⁷ but God be thanked, that you, who were the vassals of sin, have sincerely obeyed in the manner the gospel prescribed. ¹⁸ being then set free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

⁹ Know you not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? be not deceived: neither the licentious, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor the brutal,

⁷ be not deceived, God will not be mocked: for what a man soweth, that shall he also reap: ⁸ he that soweth to his vices, shall reap the deadly fruit of his vices; but he that sows to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap everlasting life.

⁶ let no man mislead you by vain reasonings: for it is for these vices, that the wrath of God lights upon the incredulous.

⁹ for the natural effect of light, is universal benevolence, justice, and truth:

¹¹ abounding in good works by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁸ but to the son he saith, "God is thy throne for ever and ever; the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of equity.

² to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of the whole booty: first, being by the signification of his name king of justice, and in fact king of Salem, which is, king of peace;

²² Don't delusively content your selves with being of the audience, but put what you hear in practice:

¹⁹ you believe there is but one God, very well: the demons believe as much, and tremble."

¹ As for you that are rich: weep, and lament the miserys that are falling upon you. ² your wealth is wasted, your wardrobe is devour'd by the worm, ³ and your gold and silver by rust: that rust shall convict you: that rust shall corrode your flesh like a caustic, which you have treasur'd up against the last days.

¹⁵ but as he, who has called you, is holy: let your whole conduct be an imitation of his holiness. ¹⁶ for it is written, "be ye holy, because I am holy."

²⁴ he himself cancel'd our sins by the crucifixion of his body, that we being set free from sin, might live in the service of virtue. it is by his bruises that you were healed:

¹ My dear children, these things I write unto you, that ye may avoid sin. but if any man has failed, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the just.

²⁶ These things have I written to you concerning those that would seduce you.

²⁹ since you know that God is the source of virtue, you know that every one who has virtue, derives it from him.

³ he that hath such an expectation should purify himself, even as he is pure.
