And that Pharaoh had made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁴ And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, "I am Pharaoh; without thy will, shall no man lift up either his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt." ⁴⁵ And he called Joseph's name Zaphenath-Paneah. And he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. Then went Joseph abroad in the land of Egypt. ⁴⁶ And he was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And then Joseph departed from Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁷ And in the seven plenteous years they made sheaves, ⁴⁸ and gathered up all the food of the seven plenteous years which were in the land of Egypt and put it into the cities. And he put the food of the fields that grew round about every city, even in the same. ⁴⁹ And Joseph laid up corn in store, like unto the sand of the sea in multitude out of measure, until he left numbering: For it was without number. ⁵⁰ And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of hunger came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, bare unto him. ⁵¹ And he called the name of the first son Manasseh, "For God," said he, "hath made me forget all my labour and all my father's household." ⁵² The second called he Ephraim, "For God," said he, "hath caused me to grow in the land of my trouble." ⁵³ And when the seven years of plenteousness that was in the land of Egypt were ended, ⁵⁴ then came the seven years of dearth, according as Joseph had said. And the dearth was in all lands: but in the land of Egypt was there yet food. ⁵⁵ When now all the land of Egypt began to hunger, then cried the people to Pharaoh for bread. And Pharaoh said unto all Egypt, "Go unto Joseph, and what he saith to you, that do." ⁵⁶ And when the dearth was throughout all the land, Joseph opened all that was in the cities, and sold unto the Egyptians. And hunger waxed sore in the land of Egypt. ⁵⁷ And all countries came to Egypt, to Joseph, for to buy corn: because that the hunger was so sore in all lands.

²⁵ How steadfast are the words of truth! And which of you can rebuke or reprove them?

²³ A joyful thing it is to a man, when his counsel is followed; and very pleasant is a word spoken in due season.

¹ A man may well purpose a thing in his heart; but the answer of the tongue cometh of the LORD.

¹¹ A word spoken in due season, is like apples of gold in a silver dish. ¹² The correction of the wise is, to an obedient ear, a golden chain and a Jewel of gold.

⁴⁶ Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell down upon his face, and bowed himself unto Daniel, and commanded that they should offer meat offerings and sweet odours unto him. ⁴⁷ The king answered Daniel, and said, "Yea, of a truth your God is a God above all gods, and LORD above all kings, and an opener of secrets: seeing thou canst discover this mystery." ⁴⁸ So the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many and great gifts. He made him ruler of all the countries of Babylon, and lord of all the nobles, that were at Babylon.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered, and said unto them, "Then give to Caesar that which belongeth to Caesar: and give to God that which pertaineth to God." And they marveled at him. ¹⁸ Then came the Sadducees came unto him, which say there is no resurrection. And they asked him, saying,

³² And the scribe said unto him, "Well master, thou hast said the truth, that there is one God, and that there is none but he. ³³ And to love him with all the heart, and with all the mind, and with all the soul, and with all the strength. And to love a man's neighbor as himself, is a greater thing than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." ³⁴ And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, "Thou art not far from the kingdom of God." And no man after that durst ask him any question.
