¹⁸ And these are the names of the children of Gershon in their kindreds: Libni and Shimei.

¹⁷ The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei in their kindreds. ¹⁸ The children of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. And Kohath lived a hundred and thirty three years. ¹⁹ The children of Merari are these: Mahli and Mushi: these are the kindreds of Levi in their generations.

²¹ And of Gershon came the kindred of the Libnites and the Shimeites, which are the kindreds of the Gershonites.

¹⁷ And these be the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

²⁰ The son of Gershom was Libni, and his son Jahath, and his son Zimmah, ²¹ and his son Joah, and his son Iddo, and his son Zerah, and his son Jeatherai.

⁷ Of the Gershonites was Ladan and Shimei. ⁸ The sons of Ladan: the chief was Jehiel and then Zetham and Joel, three. ⁹ The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the ancient heads of Ladan. ¹⁰ And the sons of Shimei were also Jahath, Zina, Jeush and Beriah: these four were the sons of Shimei. ¹¹ And Jahath was the chief, Zina the second. But Jeush and Beriah had not many sons, and therefore they were reckoned for one ancient household.

⁴ The sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir and Mahazioth.

And for Zachariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots, and his lot came out toward the North. ¹⁵ And Obededom's lot fell to the South. And to his sons fell the counsel houses. ¹⁶ And to Shuppim and Hosah fell the west with the gate Shallecheth, where the way ascendeth upward, the one way being fast by the other. ¹⁷ In the East kept six Levites: in the North four a day, and in the South four a day, and in every counsel house, two, ¹⁸ and in the watchhouses, on the way westward, four: two in a house. ¹⁹ These are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Kore and the sons of Merari. ²⁰ And of the Levites, Ahijah had the oversight of the treasure of the house of God, and of the treasure of the dedicated things. ²¹ As concerning the sons of Ladan which were Gershonites: Ladan had ancient fathers. Ladan the Gershonite had Jehieli. ²² The sons of Jehieli: Zetham and Joel his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of the LORD. ²³ Among the Amramites, Izrahites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites, ²⁴ was Shebuel the son of Gershon the son of Moses a ruler over the treasure. ²⁵ And of his brethren the sons of Eliezer, was Rehabiah, whose son was Jeshaiah, and his son was Joram, and his son Zichri, and his son was Shelomoth, ²⁶ which Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated gifts which David the king, and the ancient heads, of the captains over thousands and hundreds, ²⁷ and the captains of the host had dedicated of the spoil won in battle, to maintain the house of the LORD: ²⁸ and over all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated. All that was dedicated, was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brethren. ²⁹ Among the Izrahites was Chenaniah, with his sons, for the work without over Israel, officers and judges. ³⁰ And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of activity a thousand and seven hundred, were officers in Israel on this side Jordan westward, in all businesses of the LORD and service of the king. ³¹ And Jerijah was the chiefest among the kindreds and fathers of the Hebronites. And in the fortieth year of the kingdom of David they were sought for. And there were found of them men of activity at Jazer in Gilead. ³² And his brethren were in men of activity, two thousand and seven hundred ancient heads, which king David made rulers over the Reubenites, Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh in all matters pertaining to God and businesses of the king.

¹ These are the priests and Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and with Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, ² Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, ³ Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, ⁴ Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah, ⁵ Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, ⁶ Shemaiah, and Joiarib and Jedaiah, ⁷ Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the heads among the priests and their brethren in the time of Jeshua. ⁸ The Levites were these: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, over the office of thanksgiving, they and their brethren: ⁹ Bakbukiah and Unni, and their brethren, were about them in the watches. ¹⁰ Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim begat Eliashib, Eliashib begat Joiada. ¹¹ Joiada begat Jonathan, Jonathan begat Jaddua. ¹² And in the time of Joiakim were these the chief fathers among the priests: under Seraiah was Meraiah; under Jeremiah was Hananiah; ¹³ under Ezra, Meshullam; under Amariah, Jehohanan; ¹⁴ under Malluchi, Jonathan; under Shebaniah, Joseph; ¹⁵ under Harim, Adna; under Meraioth, Helkai; ¹⁶ under Iddo, Zechariah; under Ginnethon, Meshullam; ¹⁷ under Abijah, Zichri; under Miniamin and Moadiah Piltai; ¹⁸ under Bilgah, Shammua; under Shemaiah, Jehonathan; ¹⁹ under Joiarib, Mattenai; under Jedaiah, Uzzi; ²⁰ under Sallai, Kallai; under Amok, Eber; ²¹ under Hilkiah, Hashabiah; under Jedaiah, Nethanel. ²² And in the time of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan and Jaddua, were the chief fathers among the Levites and the priests written under the reign of Darius the Persian. ²³ The children of Levi the principal fathers were written in the Chronicles, until the time of Jonathan the son of Eliashib. ²⁴ And these were the chief among the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, and their brethren over against them, to give praise and thanks, according as David the man of God had ordained it, one watch over against another. ²⁵ Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were porters in the watch at the thresholds of the gates. ²⁶ These were in the time of Joiakim the son of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and in the time of Nehemiah the captain and of the priest Ezra the scribe.
