⁶ Let thine ears mark and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray now before thee day and night for the children of Israel thy servants, and knowledge the sins of the children of Israel, which we have committed against thee. And I and my father's house have sinned also.

¹¹ "It repenteth me that I have made Saul king. For he is turned from me and hath not performed my commandments." Wherefore Samuel was evil apaid and cried unto the LORD all night.

²⁸ But look to the prayer of thy servant and his supplication, O LORD my God, to give an ear unto the voice and prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee this day, ²⁹ that thine eyes may be open upon this house night and day; and upon the place, of which thou hast said, my name shall be there: that thou hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray in this place.

⁴⁰ So now my God let thine eyes be open and thine ears attent unto the prayers made in this place.

¹⁰ And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem and to make them bondmen and bondwomen. What other thing do ye - ye unhappy - than offend the LORD your God?

⁶ For our fathers have trespassed and done evil favouredly in the eyes of the LORD our God: and have forsaken him, and turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD and turned to their backs.

⁶ and said, "My God, I am ashamed, and dare not lift up mine eyes unto thee my God: for our wickednesses are grown over our head, and our trespasses are waxen great unto the heaven. ⁷ Since the time of our fathers have we been in great trespass unto this day, and because of our wickedness have we and our kings been delivered into the hand of the kings of the nations, in to the sword, in to captivity, in to spoil, and in to confusion of face, as it is come to pass this day.

¹ And when Ezra prayed after this manner, and knowledged, wept, and lay before the house of God, there resorted unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: For the people wept very sore.

¹¹ confess now therefore unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure, and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives."

⁵ I will acknowledge my sin unto thee; and mine unrighteousness have I not hid. I said, "I will confess my sins unto the LORD." And so thou forgavest the wickedness of my sin. Selah.

¹⁵ For the eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.

⁶ We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, stained with the flux of a woman: we fall every and each one as the leaf, for our sins carry us away like the wind. ⁷ There is no man that calleth upon thy name, that standeth up to take hold by thee. Therefore hidest thou thy face from us and consumest us, because of our sins.

³⁹ Wherefore then murmureth the living man, let him murmur at his own sin. ⁴⁰ {Nun} Let us look well upon our own ways, and remember ourselves, and turn again to the LORD. ⁴¹ Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto the God that is in heaven. ⁴² We have been dissemblers, and have offended; will thou therefore not be intreated?

⁷ Our fathers, which now are gone, have sinned; and we must bear their wickedness.

⁴ I prayed before the LORD my God, and knowledged, saying, "O LORD, thou great and fearful God, thou that keepest covenant and mercy with them which love thee, and do thy commandments:

¹⁷ Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his intercession. O let thy face shine over thy Sanctuary, that lieth waste. ¹⁸ O my God, incline thine ear, and hearken; at the least for thine own sake, open thine eyes. Behold how we be desolated: yea, and the city also, which is called after thy name. For we do not cast our prayers before thee in our own righteousnesses, no, but only in thy great mercies.

²⁰ As I was yet speaking at my prayers, knowledging mine own sins, and the sins of my people, making so mine intercession before the LORD my God, for the holy hill's sake of my God:

³⁷ And she had been a widow about four score and four years of age, which went never out of the temple, but served God there with fasting and prayer night and day.

⁷ And shall not God avenge his elect, which cry night and day unto him? Yea though he defer them:

³ among which we also had our conversation in time past, in the lusts of our flesh, and fulfilled the will of the flesh, and of the mind: and were naturally the children of wrath, even as well as others.

⁵ She that is a very widow, and friendless, putteth her trust in God, and continueth in supplication and prayer night and day:

³ I thank God, whom I serve from mine elders with pure conscience, that without ceasing I make mention of thee in my prayers night and day,

⁹ If we knowledge our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
