¹⁸ "Is not the LORD your God with you? And hath he not given you rest on every side? For he hath given the inhabiters of the land into mine hand and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people.

¹⁰ But ye shall go over Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and he shall give you rest from all your enemies round about: and ye shall dwell in safety. ¹¹ Therefore, when the LORD your God hath chosen a place to make his name dwell there, thither ye shall bring all that I command you: your burnt sacrifices and your offerings, your tithes and the heave offerings of your hands and all your godly vows which ye vow unto the LORD.

⁴ For the LORD thy God goeth with you to fight for you against your enemies and to save you.'

⁴² And all those kings and their land, Joshua took at one time: because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.
