¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, white garments so that you may be clothed and your shameful nakedness not exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

⁷ I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.

⁸ I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will give you counsel and watch over you.

²⁴ You guide me with Your counsel, and later receive me in glory.

¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.

²⁵ because you neglected all my counsel, and wanted none of my correction,

³⁰ They accepted none of my counsel; they despised all my reproof.

²⁰ Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.

²³ Invest in truth and never sell it—in wisdom and instruction and understanding.

² Keep the king’s command, I say, because of your oath before God.

³ Your nakedness will be uncovered and your shame will be exposed. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one.”

¹ “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!

²⁶ So I will pull your skirts up over your face, that your shame may be seen.

² And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹¹ Depart in shameful nakedness, O dwellers of Shaphir. The dwellers of Zaanan will not come out. Beth-ezel is in mourning; its support is taken from you.

⁵ “Behold, I am against you,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show your nakedness to the nations and your shame to the kingdoms.

³ And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.

⁴⁴ Again the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.

⁹ ‘No,’ said the wise ones, ‘or there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

²¹ This is how it will be for anyone who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”

⁶ When Jesus had said this, He spit on the ground, made some mud, and applied it to the eyes of the blind man. ⁷ Then He told him, “Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came back seeing. ⁸ At this, his neighbors and those who had formerly seen him blind began to ask, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?” ⁹ Some claimed that he was, but others said, “He just looks like him.” But the man kept saying, “I am the one.” ¹⁰ “How were your eyes opened?” they asked. ¹¹ He answered, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and anointed my eyes, and He told me to go to the Pool of Siloam and wash. So I went and washed and received my sight.”

¹² If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, ¹³ his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work.

³ because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

¹⁸ Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share,

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?

⁷ so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, honor, and glory, at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

²⁰ You, however, have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. ²¹ I have not written to you because you lack knowledge of the truth, but because you have it, and because no lie comes from the truth. ²² Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father. ²⁴ As for you, then, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is the promise that He Himself made to us: eternal life. ²⁶ I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. ²⁷ And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.

⁹ I know your works and your affliction and your poverty—though you are rich! And I am aware of the slander of those who falsely claim to be Jews, but are in fact a synagogue of Satan.

⁴ But you do have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white. ⁵ Like them, he who overcomes will be dressed in white. And I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and His angels.

¹⁷ You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

¹³ Then one of the elders addressed me: “These in white robes,” he asked, “who are they, and where have they come from?”

¹⁵ “Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who remains awake and clothed, so that he will not go naked and let his shame be exposed.”

⁸ She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints.
