¹⁴ How much less, then, when you say that you do not see Him, that your case is before Him and you must wait for Him,

¹¹ Were He to pass by me, I would not see Him; were He to move, I would not recognize Him.

¹⁹ If it is a matter of strength, He is indeed mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?

⁷ Though I cry out, ‘Violence!’ I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice.

³ If only I knew where to find Him, so that I could go to His seat.

⁸ If I go east, He is not there, and if I go west, I cannot find Him. ⁹ When He is at work in the north, I cannot behold Him; when He turns to the south, I cannot see Him. ¹⁰ Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

¹² Do not hand me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence. ¹³ Still I am certain to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!

⁵ Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it. ⁶ He will bring forth your righteousness like the dawn, your justice like the noonday sun.

⁵ Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him.

⁸ Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah

⁵ I considered the days of old, the years long in the past. ⁶ At night I remembered my song; in my heart I mused, and my spirit pondered: ⁷ “Will the Lord spurn us forever and never show His favor again? ⁸ Is His loving devotion gone forever? Has His promise failed for all time? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has His anger shut off His compassion?” Selah ¹⁰ So I said, “I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

² Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are His throne’s foundation.

¹⁸ Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He rises to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.

¹⁰ Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him lean on his God.

¹⁷ No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

⁷ But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. ⁸ Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will arise; though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. ⁹ Because I have sinned against Him, I must endure the rage of the LORD, until He argues my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me into the light; I will see His righteousness.

³³ Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is there to condemn us? For Christ, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.
