²⁹ Jesus replied. "The first is. 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord; ³⁰ and thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.'"

³³ and that beside him there is none other, and to love him with all one's heart and with all one's understanding and with all one's might, and to love one's neighbor as oneself is far beyond all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."

⁷ For to be earthly minded is enmity against God; For such a mind is not subject to the Law of God, Nor can it be;

² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. ³ For love to God means obeying his commandments; and his commandments are not irksome. ⁴ For whoever is a child of God is overcoming the world; and our faith is the victory that has overcome the world. ⁵ And who it the one that is overcoming the world if not the man who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
