¹⁴ For this cause I bend my knees before the Father, ¹⁵ from whom every fatherhood in heaven and earth is named, ¹⁶ praying him to grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in your inmost being; ¹⁷ that Christ may make his home in your hearts through your faith; that you may be so deeply rooted and so firmly grounded in love, ¹⁸ that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is "the breadth," "the length," "the depth," and "the height," ¹⁹ and may know the love of Christ which transcends all knowing, so that you may be filled with all the "plenitude" of God. ²⁰ Now unto him who, according to his might that is at work within us, is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or even think,

⁵ For God is one; and one is mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself as a ransom in behalf of all, to be attested in due time.

¹⁴ Inasmuch, then, as we have a great High Priest, Jesus, the Son of God, who has passed through the heavens, let us hold fast our confession of faith. ¹⁵ For we have not a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us, then, draw near with glad boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help us in our times of need.

²⁵ Hence also he is able to continue saving to the uttermost those who are ever drawing near to God through him, seeing that he is ever living to intercede for them. ²⁶ For we needed just such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;

¹⁹ Since, then, we have a cheerful confidence, brothers, to enter into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by the way which he dedicated for us, that new and living way, through the veil (that is, his flesh); ²¹ and since we have a great High Priest over the house of God; ²² let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled from and evil conscience, and our bodies bathed in pure water. ²³ Let us hold fast the confession of our hope, unwavering (for He is faithful who promised);

¹ My children, I am writing this to you that you may not continue to sin; but if any one sin, we ever have a Comforter before the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

¹⁴ Now the confidence which we have in him is this, that he listens to us whenever we ask anything that is in accordance with his will. ¹⁵ And if we know that he is listening to us in what ever we are asking, we know that we obtain the petitions which we have made to him. ¹⁶ If any one sees his brother committing a sin that is not deadly, he shall ask, and God will give him life, for any one who is not committing a deadly sin. There is a deadly sin; concerning that I do not say that he should pray.
