¹⁷ And the king commanded and they hewed out great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with shaped stone. ¹⁸ And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders and the Gebalites fashioned them and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.

⁷ And the house, when it was being built, was built of stone made ready at the quarry. And there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was being built.

²⁸ For which out of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, if he has the means toward its realization? ²⁹ Lest, when he has laid a foundation and is not strong-enough to complete, all who view it may begin to mock him, ³⁰ saying, This one began to build and was not strong-enough to complete.
