¹⁰ If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

¹ And David said in his heart, I will now perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel, so I will escape out of his hand.

⁵ But now it comes to you and you faint. It touches you and you are troubled.

²⁸ Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, nor is weary. There is no searching of his understanding. ²⁹ He gives power to the faint. And to him who has no might he increases strength.
³⁰ Even the youths will faint and be weary and the young men will utterly fall. ³¹ But those who wait for Jehovah will renew their strength. They will mount up with pinions like eagles. They will run and not be weary. They will walk and not faint.

⁴⁶ And do not let your* heart faint. Neither fear for the news that will be heard in the land. For news will come one year and after that in another year, news and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

⁸ For his disciples had gone away into the city, in order that they might buy nourishment.

¹ Because of this, having this service, just-as we have been shown-mercy, we are not depressed.

¹³ Hence I am asking you not to be depressed at my afflictions on your behalf, which are your glory.

³ For, study the one who has endured such dispute by sinners to himself, in order that you might not be weary, fainting in your souls. ⁴ You have not yet stood against this, as far as blood, in your struggle against sin. ⁵ And you have forgotten the encouragement which reasons with you as with sons, ‘My son, do not regard-lightly the disciplining of the Lord, nor be fainting when you are reproved by him.

³ and you have endurance and did bear because of my name and have not fatigued.

¹³ I know your works and where you dwell–where the Adversary’s throne is, and you are holding-fast my name and did not deny my faith in the days, in which my witness, the faithful Antipas was killed beside you, where the Adversary is dwelling.
