Go forth to the encounter of him. 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 Now the foolish said to the prudent, Give us some oil from your oil, because our lamps are quenched. 9 But the prudent answered, saying, No, lest it might not be enough for us and you too, but rather, travel to those who sell and buy for yourselves. 10 But while going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared entered with him to the marriage-feast, and the door was locked.

Matthew 25:24-28

26 But his lord answered and said to him, You evil and lazy bondservant, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather from where I did not scatter? 27 Therefore, you ought to have put my silver with the bankers, and when I came, I might get back my own together with interest. 28 Therefore, take away the talant from him and give it to the one who has the ten talants.

2 Peter 1:5-11

5 Now also for this same thing, besides having entered in all diligence, supply in your faith, virtue, and in your virtue, knowledge 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, endurance, and in your endurance, godliness; 7 and in your godliness, brotherly-love, and in your brotherly-love, love. 8 For if these things are existing and increasing in you, none will designate you idle or unfruitful toward the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For the one is blind in whom these things are not present, being short-sighted, having taken on himself the forgetfulness of the cleansing from his old sins.
10 Hence brethren, be more diligent to make your calling and choice steadfast; for, you may never trip someday while practicing these things; 11 for so the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you.
