Ezra 9:12-14

12 Now therefore do not give your* daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters to your* sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever, that you* may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your* sons until everlasting.
13 And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, seeing that you, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve and have given us such a remnant, 14 will we again break your commandments and make a marriage-agreement with the peoples who do these abominations? Would you not be angry with us till you had consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?

Ezra 10:10-12

10 And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, You* have trespassed and have married foreign women to increase the guilt of Israel. 11 Now therefore make confession to Jehovah, the God of your* fathers and do his pleasure and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign women.
12 Then all the assembly answered and said with a loud voice, As you have said concerning us, so must we do.
