² Jehovah is a jealous God and avenges. Jehovah avenges and is full of wrath. Jehovah takes vengeance on his adversaries and he reserves wrath for his enemies.

⁵ You will not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them, because I, Jehovah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me,

¹⁴ for you will worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

²⁸ then I will walk contrary to you* in wrath and I also will discipline you* seven times for your* sins.

²⁴ For Jehovah your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

³⁴ Is not this laid up in store with me, sealed up among my treasures?
³⁵ Vengeance is for me and recompense at the time when their foot will slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand and the things that are to come upon them will make haste.

⁴¹ if I flash my glittering sword and my hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance to my adversaries and will recompense those who hate me. ⁴² I will make my arrows drunk with blood and my sword will devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of the leaders of the enemy. ⁴³ Rejoice, O you* Gentiles, with his people. For he will avenge the blood of his servants and will render vengeance to his adversaries and will recompense those who hate him and will make expiation for his land, for his people.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to the people, You* cannot serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your* transgression nor your* sins.

²³ When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath upon him and will rain it upon him while he is eating.

¹ O Jehovah, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth.

¹³ Jehovah will go forth as a mighty man. He will stir up his zeal like a man of war. He will cry, yes, he will shout aloud. He will do mightily against his enemies.

¹⁷ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, who have drunk at the hand of Jehovah the cup of his wrath. You have drunk the bowl of the cup of staggering and drained it.

²⁰ Your sons have fainted. They lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net. They are full of the wrath of Jehovah, the rebuke of your God.

¹⁷ And he put on righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation upon his head. And he put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a mantle.
¹⁸ According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies. He will repay recompense to the islands.

³ I have trodden the winepress alone and of the peoples there was no man with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments and I have stained all my garments. ⁴ For the day of vengeance was in my heart and the year of my redeemed has come.
⁵ And I looked and there was none to help. And I wondered that there was none to uphold. Therefore my own arm brought salvation to me. And my wrath, it upheld me. ⁶ And I trod down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.

¹⁵ For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire and his chariots will be like the whirlwind, to render his anger with fierceness and his rebuke with flames of fire.

⁵ Will he retain his anger everlasting? Will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things and have had your way.

⁴ Circumcise yourselves to Jehovah and take away the foreskins of your* heart, you* men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, lest my wrath go forth like fire and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your* practices.

¹⁵ For Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, to me: Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.

⁷ It may be they will present their supplication before Jehovah and will return each one from his evil way, for great is the anger and the wrath that Jehovah has pronounced against this people.

¹¹ Jehovah has accomplished his wrath. He has poured out his fierce anger and he has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured the foundations of it.

¹³ Thus my anger will be accomplished and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest and I will be comforted. And they will know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath upon them.

¹² He who is far off will die of the pestilence and he who is near will fall by the sword and he who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus I will accomplish my wrath upon them.

¹⁸ Therefore I will also deal in wrath. My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. And though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet I will not hear them.

⁶ Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, The lord Jehovah says thus: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you* have borne the shame of the nations.

¹⁸ And it will happen in that day, when Gog will come against the land of Israel, says the lord Jehovah, that my wrath will come up into my nostrils.

²⁵ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Now I will bring back the captivity of Jacob and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel. And I will be jealous for my holy name.

¹⁸ Then Jehovah was jealous for his land and had pity on his people.

¹⁵ And I will execute vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations that did not listen.

¹⁸ Who is a God like to you, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.

¹⁴ So the messenger who talked with me said to me, Cry, saying, Jehovah of hosts says thus: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

² Jehovah of hosts says thus: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy and I am jealous for her with great wrath.

⁵ But you store up wrath for yourself according to your hardness and unrepentant heart in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; ⁶ who will ‘repay to each according to his works.’

¹⁹ Beloved, do not be avenging yourselves, but give a chance for the wrath of God; for it has been written, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying, says the Lord.’

⁴ for he is a servant of God to you for what is the good thing. But if you practice what is the evil thing, be afraid; for he is not wearing the sword vainly; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to the one who is practicing the evil thing.

³⁰ For we know the one who said, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying says the Lord.’And again, ‘ The Lord will judge his people.’

⁹ The Lord knows how to rescue the devout out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous to a day of judgment to be punished;
