³¹ Then Jesus says to them, All of you will be offended at me this night; for it has been written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away, ¹⁶ which are black because of the ice, in which the snow hides itself. ¹⁷ What time they grow warm, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
¹⁸ The caravans that travel by the way of them turn aside. They go up into the waste and perish. ¹⁹ The caravans of Tema looked, the traveling of Sheba waited for them. ²⁰ They were put to shame because they had hoped. They came there and were confounded.
²¹ For now you* are nothing. You* see a terror and are afraid. ²² Did I say, Give to me? Or, Offer a present for me from your* substance?

¹³ He has put my brothers far from me and my acquaintances are entirely estranged from me. ¹⁴ My kinsfolk have failed and my familiar friends have forgotten me. ¹⁵ Those who dwell in my house and my maids, reckon me for a stranger; I am an alien in their sight. ¹⁶ I call to my servant and he gives me no answer. I entreat him with my mouth.

¹¹ Those I love and my friends stand apart from my plague and my kinsmen stand afar off.

²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart and I am full of heaviness. And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.

¹⁸ You have put beloved and friend far from me and my acquaintances into darkness.

¹⁰ Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him. He has put him to grief.
When you will make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his seed. He will prolong his days and the pleasure of Jehovah will prosper in his hand.

¹⁹ I called for my loved ones, but they deceived me. My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city, while they sought food for themselves to refresh their souls.

⁵ And they were scattered because there was no shepherd. And they became food to all the beasts of the field and were scattered. ⁶ My sheep wandered through all the mountains and upon every high hill. Yes, my sheep were scattered upon all the face of the earth and there was none who searched or sought.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd and against the man who is my companion, says Jehovah of hosts. Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

⁶ And whoever is not offended at me is fortunate.

⁹ Then they will be giving you up to affliction and will be killing you, and you will be hated by all the nations because of my name. ¹⁰ And then many will be offended, and will be giving up one another and will be hating one another.

⁵⁶ But this whole thing has happened, in order that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him and fled.

²⁷ And Jesus says to them, All of you will be offended at me in this night, because it has been written, ‘I will be striking the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.’ ²⁸ But after I arise, I will be preceding you into Galilee.

³¹ Now the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, the Adversary asked for you, to sift you like wheat. ³² But I besought concerning you, in order that your faith may not fail, and someday having turned back again, establish your brethren.

³² Behold, the hour is coming and has now come, in order that you might be scattered, each one to his own and you may leave me alone and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
