⁴² Therefore watch, because you do not know in what hour your Lord is coming.

³⁶ But concerning that day and the hour, no one knows, neither the messengers of the heavens, except my Father only.

¹³ Therefore watch, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

³⁸ Then he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful until death. Remain here and watch with me.
³⁹ And when he went a little more, he fell upon his face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; however, not as I will, but as you will.
⁴⁰ And he comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping and says to Peter, What, were you not strong-enough to watch with me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, in order that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed eager, but the flesh is weak.

³³ Beware, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ It is like a man, going-abroad, having left his house and given authority to his bondservants, and his work to each one, and he commanded the doorkeeper in order that he should watch. ³⁵ Therefore watch; for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening or midnight or rooster’s crowing or in the morning; ³⁶ lest having come suddenly, he might find you sleeping. ³⁷ Now what I say to you, I say to all, Watch!

³⁵ Let your loins be girded, and your lamps burning; ³⁶ and you yourselves are similar to men waiting for their lord, as to whenever he vacates from the marriage-feast; in order that, when he has come and knocks, they may immediately open to him. ³⁷ The fortunate bondservants, whom the lord, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly I am saying to you, that he will gird himself, and will have them recline at the meal, and having passed by them, he will be serving them. ³⁸ And if he comes in the second watch, and in the third, and should find them so, those are fortunate bondservants.
\ulnone\nosupersub ³⁹ But know this, that if the householder knew in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have left his house roof to be burrowed through. ⁴⁰ You therefore, also become prepared, because in an hour that you do not think the Son of Man is coming, he comes.

³⁶ Therefore, watch in every season, beseeching, in order that you might be deemed worthy to flee away from all the things which are about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.

¹¹ Also this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour to be raised from sleep; for our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

¹³ Watch. Stand-firm in the faith. Be manly. Be powerful.

⁶ Therefore consequently, we should not sleep, like the rest also do, but let us watch and be sober.

⁷ But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore, be sensible and be sober for prayers.

⁸ Be sober! Watch! Your opponent, the devil, like a roaring lion, is walking around seeking whom he may swallow,

² Become watchful and establish the rest of the things, which were about to be cast away; for I have not found your works having been fulfilled in the sight of my God. ³ Therefore remember how you have received and heard, and keep it and repent. Therefore if you do not watch, I will be coming upon you like a thief and you may never know what hour I will be coming upon you.
