²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke to us. It will be therefore a witness against you*, lest you* deny your* God.

⁵¹ And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap and behold the pillar, which I have set between me and you. ⁵² This heap is witness and the pillar is witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar for harm to me.

²⁶ I call heaven and earth to witness against you* this day, that you* will soon utterly perish from the land to which you* go over the Jordan to possess it. You* will not prolong your* days upon it, but will be utterly destroyed.

¹⁹ I call heaven and earth to witness against you* this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your seed,

¹⁹ Now therefore write this song for you* and teach you it the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the sons of Israel.

²¹ And it will happen, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify before them as a witness, for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed. For I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

²⁶ Take this book of the law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your* God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

³⁴ And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad called the altar Witness. For, they said, it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.

¹² Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Jehovah has helped us to now.

²³ For calamity from God is a terror to me and I can do nothing because of his majesty.

⁹ lest I am full and deny you and say, Who is Jehovah? or lest I am poor and steal and use the name of my God profanely.

² Hear, O heavens and listen, O earth, for Jehovah has spoken. I have nourished and brought up sons and they have rebelled against me.

¹¹ For the stone will cry out of the wall and the beam out of the timber will answer it.

³³ But whoever denies me before men, I will also be denying him before my Father who is in the heavens.

⁴⁰ And he answered and said to them, I say to you, that if these disciples are silent, then the stones will be crying out.

¹² if we endure, we will also be reigning together with him; if we are denying him, he will also be denying us; ¹³ if we are unfaithful, that one is remaining faithful; he is not able to deny himself.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but they are denying him by their works, being detestable and disobedient and unapproved toward every good work.

⁸ I know your works (behold, I have given you an opened door which is in your sight, which no one is able to lock it), that you have little power and kept my word and did not deny my name.
