¹⁴ Now therefore fear Jehovah and serve him in sincerity and in truth. And put away the gods which your* fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt and serve you* Jehovah.

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am God Almighty, walk before me and you will be perfect.

⁵ Did he not himself say to me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.
⁶ And God said to him in the dream, Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this. And I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not allow you to touch her.

² Then Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, Put away the foreign gods that are among you* and purify yourselves and change your* garments.

³ You will have no other gods before me.
⁴ You will not make to you a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

⁷ And they will no more sacrifice their sacrifices to the male-goats, after which they play the prostitute. This will be an everlasting statute to them throughout their genealogy.

¹² And now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God require of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹³ You will be perfect with Jehovah your God.

² And Joshua said to all the people, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel: Your* fathers dwelt of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor and they served other gods.

²³ Now therefore, he said, put away the foreign gods which are among you* and incline your* heart to Jehovah, the God of Israel.

²⁴ Only fear Jehovah and serve him in truth with all your* heart, for consider what great things he has done for you*.

³ Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart and have done what is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept greatly.

¹¹ which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, The land, to which you* go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness.

¹ There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job and that man was perfect and upright and one who feared God and turned away from evil.

²⁸ And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom and all who act accordingly have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever.

¹ Those who are perfect in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah are fortunate.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be perfect in your statutes that I am not put to shame.

⁴ But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared.

⁷ And I said to them, Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Jehovah your* God. ⁸ But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me. They did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ And I said to their sons in the wilderness, Walk you* not in the statutes of your* fathers. Neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

³ And they played the prostitute in Egypt. They played the prostitute in their youth. There their breasts were pressed and there was handled the bosom of their virginity.

⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king and will come with fear to Jehovah and to his goodness in the latter days.

²⁵ Did you* bring sacrifices and offerings to me in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? ²⁶ Yes, you* have borne the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of your* god Remphan, your* images which you* made to yourselves.

¹⁵ But that seed in the good soil, these are such as in a good and beautiful heart, having heard the word, hold-onto it and are bearing-fruit with endurance.

²³ But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will be worshiping the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father also is seeking such who are worshiping him. ²⁴ God is a Spirit, and it is essential for those who are worshiping him to worship in spirit and truth.

³¹ Therefore indeed, all the congregations throughout the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace. They were being multiplied, being built up, and having conducted-themselves in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

¹² For this is our boasting, the testimony of our conscience, that in clarity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world and even-more toward you.

²⁴ Grace is with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption. Amen.

¹⁰ that you may approve the things which are carrying more-value; in order that you may be sincere and guilt-free in the day of Christ;
