Isaiah 24:9 Cross References - MLV

⁹ They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.

¹² Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards.

⁷ Go your way, eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a merry heart, because God has already accepted your works.

¹¹ Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who abide late into the night, till wine inflame them! ¹² And the harp and the lute, the tambourine and the pipe and wine, are in their feasts, but they do not regard the work of Jehovah, nor have they considered the operation of his hands.

²⁰ Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

²² Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong drink,

⁵ who scatter-words to the mouth of the harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David, ⁶ who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
⁷ Therefore they will now go into exile with the first who go into exile and the banqueting of those who stretched themselves will pass away.

³ And the songs of the temple will be wailings in that day, says the lord Jehovah. The dead bodies will be many. In every place they will cast them forth with silence.

¹⁰ And I will turn your* feasts into mourning and all your* songs into lamentation. And I will bring sackcloth upon all loins and baldness upon every head and I will make it as the mourning for an only son and the end of it as a bitter day.

¹⁵ Jehovah of hosts will defend them. And they will devour and will tread down the sling-stones. And they will drink and make a noise as through wine and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar.

¹⁸ And do not be drunken with wine, in which there is riotousness, but be filled in the Spirit; ¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and singing-praise in your heart to the Lord;
