¹³ And thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses of it. And it will be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches. ¹⁴ And the wild beasts of the desert will meet with the wolves. And the wild goat will cry to his fellow. Yes, the screech owl will settle there and will find her a place of rest. ¹⁵ There the dart-snake will make her nest and lay and hatch and gather under her shade. Yes, there the vultures will be gathered, each one with her mate.

²⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will punish all those who are circumcised in their uncircumcision: ²⁶ Egypt and Judah and Edom and the sons of Ammon and Moab and all who have the corners of their hair cut off, who dwell in the wilderness. ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes, and out of them you will be killing and will be crucifying, and some of them you will be scourging in your synagogues and will be persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

⁴³ Because the days will be coming upon you, and your enemies will put a military-barrier around you and will surround you, and will crowd you on every-side,

²⁴ And they will be falling by the edge of the sword and will be captured into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles should be fulfilled.

⁷ And whenever they completed their testimony, the beast which is ascending out of the abyss, will make war with them and overcome them and kill them. ⁸ And the corpse s of them lay in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁵ and a name has been written upon her forehead, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth. ⁶ And I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the holy-ones and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled when I saw her– with great marvel!
