¹⁴ And I will also judge that nation, whom they will serve and afterward they will come out with great substance.

¹ And Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to Beer-sheba and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. ² And God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here I am. ³ And he said, I am God, the God of your father. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, because I will there make of you a great nation. ⁴ I will go down with you into Egypt and I will also surely bring you up again and Joseph will put his hand upon your eyes.
⁵ And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father and their little ones and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. ⁶ And they took up their goods and all their property, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, they came into the land of Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him: ⁷ the sons and the sons of his sons with him, his daughters and the daughters of his daughters. And he brought all his seed into Egypt.
⁸ And these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn. ⁹ And the sons of Reuben were : Hanoch and Pallu and Hezron and Carmi. ¹⁰ And the sons of Simeon were : Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. ¹¹ And the sons of Levi were : Gershon, Kohath and Merari. ¹² And the sons of Judah were : Er and Onan and Shelah and Perez and Zerah. But Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. ¹³ And the sons of Issachar were : Tola and Puvah and Job and Shimron. ¹⁴ And the sons of Zebulun were : Sered and Elon and Jahleel. ¹⁵ These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.
¹⁶ And the sons of Gad were : Ziphion and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, Eri and Arodi and Areli. ¹⁷ And the sons of Asher were : Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah and Serah their sister. And the sons of Beriah were : Heber and Malchiel. ¹⁸ These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls.
¹⁹ The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife were : Joseph and Benjamin. ²⁰ And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah priest of On, bore to him. ²¹ And the sons of Benjamin were : Bela and Becher and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppim and Huppim and Ard. ²² These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
²³ And the sons of Dan were : Hushim. ²⁴ And the sons of Naphtali were : Jahzeel and Guni and Jezer and Shillem. ²⁵ These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter and these she bore to Jacob. All the souls were seven.
²⁶ All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were sixty-six. ²⁷ And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.
²⁸ And he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen and they came into the land of Goshen. ²⁹ And Joseph made his chariot ready and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen. And he presented himself to him and fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while. ³⁰ And Israel said to Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are yet alive.
³¹ And Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's house, I will go up and tell Pharaoh and will say to him, My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me. ³² And the men are shepherds, because they have been keepers of cattle and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.
³³ And it will happen, when Pharaoh will call you* and will say, What is your* occupation? ³⁴ that you* will say, Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, that you* may dwell in the land of Goshen, because every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.

²¹ And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And it will happen, that, when you* go, you* will not go empty. ²² But every woman will ask of her neighbor and of her who travels in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and garments. And you* will put them upon your* sons and upon your* daughters and you* will despoil the Egyptians.

⁵ And moreover I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage and I have remembered my covenant.
⁶ Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I am Jehovah. And I will bring you* out from under the burdens of the Egyptians and I will rid you* out of their bondage and I will redeem you* with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh and Aaron your brother will be your prophet. ² You will speak all that I command you and Aaron your brother will speak to Pharaoh, that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
³ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ But Pharaoh will not listen to you*. And I will lay my hand upon Egypt and bring forth my armies, my people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. ⁵ And the Egyptians will know that I am Jehovah, when I stretch forth my hand upon Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from among them.
⁶ And Moses and Aaron did so, as Jehovah commanded them, so they did. ⁷ And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh.
⁸ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ⁹ When Pharaoh will speak to you*, saying, Show a wonder for you*, then you will say to Aaron, Take your rod and cast it down before Pharaoh, that it become a serpent. ¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh. And they did so, as Jehovah had commanded and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants and it became a serpent.
¹¹ Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers. And they also, the magicians of Egypt, did in like manner with their enchantments. ¹² For they cast down every man his rod and they became serpents, but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. ¹³ And Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had spoken.
¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.

³² Take both your* flocks and your* herds, as you* have said and be gone and bless me also. ³³ And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to send them out of the land in haste, because they said, We are all dead men.
³⁴ And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. ³⁵ And the sons of Israel did according to the word of Moses and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver and jewels of gold and garments. ³⁶ And Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians.
³⁷ And the sons of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children. ³⁸ And a mixed multitude also went up with them and flocks and herds, even very much cattle.

²⁰ But Jehovah has taken you* and brought you* forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to him a people of inheritance, as at this day.

²² And Jehovah showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his house, before our eyes.

¹⁸ You will not be afraid of them. You will remember well what Jehovah your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: ¹⁹ the great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which Jehovah your God brought you out. So will Jehovah your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.

² And you* know this day, for it is not with your* sons who have not known and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your* God, his greatness, his mighty hand and his outstretched arm, ³ and his signs and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the King of Egypt and to all his land, ⁴ and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses and to their chariots, how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you* and how Jehovah has destroyed them to this day,

⁴ And I gave to Isaac, Jacob and Esau. And I gave to Esau Mount Seir to possess it. And Jacob and his sons went down into Egypt.
⁵ And I sent Moses and Aaron and I plagued Egypt, according to what I did in the midst of it and afterward I brought you* out. ⁶ And I brought your* fathers out of Egypt. And you* came to the sea and the Egyptians pursued after your* fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Red Sea. ⁷ And when they cried out to Jehovah, he put darkness between you* and the Egyptians and brought the sea upon them and covered them. And your* eyes saw what I did in Egypt and you* dwelt in the wilderness many days.

¹⁷ For Jehovah our God, he it is who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage and who did those great signs in our sight and preserved us in all the way in which we went and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed.

⁸ When Jacob had come into Egypt and your* fathers cried to Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron who brought out your* fathers out of Egypt and made them to dwell in this place.

⁹ And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard their cry by the Red Sea, ¹⁰ and showed signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his servants and on all the people of his land, for you knew that they dealt proudly against them and got you a name, as it is this day. ¹¹ And you divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land. And you cast their pursuers into the depths as a stone into the mighty waters.

⁴ Against you, you only, I have sinned and done what is evil in your sight, that you may be justified when you speak and may prevail when you are criticized.

⁴³ how he set his signs in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan, ⁴⁴ and turned their rivers into blood and their streams, so that they could not drink.
⁴⁵ He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them and frogs, which destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He also gave their increase to the caterpillar and their labor to the locust.
⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with frost. ⁴⁸ He also gave over their cattle to the hail and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
⁴⁹ He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath and indignation and trouble, a discharge of messengers of evil.
⁵⁰ He made a path for his anger. He spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence, ⁵¹ and killed* all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.

²⁷ They set among them his signs and wonders in the land of Ham.
²⁸ He sent darkness and made it dark. And they rebelled against his words.
²⁹ He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs in the chambers of their kings.
³¹ He spoke and there came swarms of flies and lice in all their borders.
³² He gave them hail for rain and flaming fire in their land. ³³ He also killed* their vines and their fig trees and broke the trees of their borders.
³⁴ He spoke and the locust came and the grasshopper and that without number, ³⁵ and ate up every herb in their land and ate up the fruit of their ground. ³⁶ He also killed* all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
³⁷ And he brought them forth with silver and gold and there was not a feeble soul among his tribes.

⁹ who sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants,

¹⁴ Because Jehovah will judge his people and will relent concerning his servants.
