¹⁸ The lord Jehovah says thus: In the first month, in the first day of the month, you will take a young bullock without blemish and you will cleanse the sanctuary.

² This month will be to you* the beginning of months; it will be the first month of the year to you*.

¹⁶ And he will make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel and because of their transgressions, even all their sins. And so he will do for the tent of meeting that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

³³ and will make atonement for the holy sanctuary and he will make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar and he will make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

²⁰ But whatever has a blemish, that you* will not offer, for it will not be acceptable for you*.

¹¹ And in the beginnings of your* months you* will offer a burnt offering to Jehovah: two young bullocks and one ram, seven male-lambs a year old without blemish, ¹² and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil for each bullock and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil for the one ram, ¹³ and a tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering to every lamb, for a burnt offering of a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ¹⁴ And their drink offerings will be half a hin of wine for a bullock and the third part of a hin for the ram and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb. This is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. ¹⁵ And one male-goat for a sin offering to Jehovah, it will be offered besides the continual burnt offering and the drink offering of it.

²² And on the second day you will offer a male-goat without blemish for a sin offering. And they will cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bullock.

²⁶ Seven days they will make atonement for the altar and purify it. So they will consecrate it.

³³ But first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

²⁶ For such a high-priest was suitable to us, holy, guiltless, undefiled, has been separated away from sinners and became exalted from the heavens;

¹⁴ how much more the blood of Christ, (who through the everlasting Spirit offered himself unblemished to God), will be cleansing your conscience from dead works, that you may give-divine service to the living God.

²² And according to the law, I may say, almost all things are cleansed in blood and no forgiveness happens without the shedding of blood.
²³ Therefore indeed, it was a necessity that the copies of the things in the heavens are to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For the Christ did not enter into a holy-places made with hands, counterparts to the true one, but into heaven itself, now to be manifested before the face of God on our behalf. ²⁵ Nor did he enter in order that he should offer himself often, just-like the high-priest enters into the holy-places every year with another’s blood;

³ But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance of sins every year. ⁴ For it is impossible that the blood of oxen and male-goats should take away sins.

¹⁹ Therefore brethren, having boldness for the entrance into the holy-places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ a way which he inaugurated for us, a fresh and living way, through the curtain, that is, his flesh; ²¹ and having a great priest over the house of God; ²² let us come near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts having been sprinkled away from an evil conscience and our body, having been fully-washed in clean water.

¹⁹ But like that of an unblemished and unstained lamb, you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ,
