¹ And he said to Moses, Come up to Jehovah, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel and worship you* afar off.

⁵ And all the souls who came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls. And Joseph was in Egypt already.

⁵ And he said, Do not draw near here. Put off your shoes from your feet, because the place on which you stand is holy ground.

²³ And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as a wife and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

⁹ And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe you everlasting. And Moses told the words of the people to Jehovah.

²⁰ And Jehovah came down upon Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. And Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mountain and Moses went up.

²⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Go, get down. And you will come up, you and Aaron with you, but do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to Jehovah, lest he break forth upon them.

²¹ And the people stood afar off and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

⁹ Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.

¹⁵ And Moses went up onto the mountain and the cloud covered the mountain.

¹ And bring you near to you Aaron your brother and his sons with him, from among the sons of Israel, that he may minister to me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.

² And be ready by the morning and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.

¹ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each of them took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them. ² And there came out fire from before Jehovah and devoured them and they died before Jehovah.

¹⁶ And Jehovah said to Moses, Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them. And bring them to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you.

²⁴ And Moses went out and told the people the words of Jehovah. And he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people and set them all around the tent.
²⁵ And Jehovah came down in the cloud and spoke to him and took of the spirit that was upon him and put it upon the seventy elders. And it happened, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

³ And the sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

¹¹ And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel. And in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, each man with his censer in his hand and the odor of the cloud of incense went up.

¹ Now after these things, the Lord also delegated seventy others, and sent them two apiece into every city and place before his face, where he himself was about to go.

¹⁷ Now the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name.
