¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, becauseI have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs in the midst of them,

²⁰ And I will put forth my hand and kill* Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst of it and after that he will let you* go.

²¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

⁴ But Pharaoh will not listen to you*. And I will lay my hand upon Egypt and bring forth my armies, my people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

¹³ And Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had spoken.
¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.

¹⁶ But indeed for this cause I have raised you up, to display in you my power and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

²⁷ And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron and said to them, I have sinned this time. Jehovah is righteous and I and my people are wicked.

³⁴ And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more and hardened his heart, he and his servants. ³⁵ And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he did not let the sons of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses.

¹⁷ And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians and they will go in after them and I will get for me honor upon Pharaoh and upon all his army, upon his chariots and upon his horsemen. ¹⁸ And the Egyptians will know that I am Jehovah, when I have gotten for me honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots and upon his horsemen.

¹⁴ The peoples have heard, they tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. ¹⁵ Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed, the mighty men of Moab. Trembling takes hold upon them. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away.

⁹ And she said to the men, I know that Jehovah has given you* the land and that the fear of you* has fallen upon us. And that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you*.
¹⁰ For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea before you* when you* came out of Egypt and what you* did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you* utterly destroyed.

²³ For Jehovah your* God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you*, until you* were passed over, as Jehovah your* God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were passed over, ²⁴ that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of Jehovah, that it is mighty, that you* may fear Jehovah your* God forever.

⁸ Woe to us! Who will deliver us out of the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods that killed* the Egyptians with all manner of plagues in the wilderness.

¹¹ God is a righteous judge. Yes, a God who has indignation every day.

¹⁷ For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, ‘I have lifted you up for this same thing, that I myself might show in you my power and that my name might be thoroughly proclaimed in all the earth.’
