Ecclesiastes 12:1 Cross References - MLV

¹ Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near, when you will say, I have no pleasure in them,

² And Jehovah was with Joseph. And he was a man who succeeds. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

⁸ But he refused and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master does not know what is in the house with me and he has put all that he has into my hand. ⁹ He is not greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?

²³ The keeper of the prison did not look to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him and what he did, Jehovah made it prosper.

²⁸ Therefore also I have granted him to Jehovah; as long as he lives he is granted to Jehovah. And he worshiped Jehovah there.

¹⁸ But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

²⁶ And the child Samuel grew on and increased in favor both with Jehovah and also with men.

¹⁹ And Samuel grew and Jehovah was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. ²⁰ And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Jehovah. ²¹ And Jehovah appeared again in Shiloh, for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.

⁷ But Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For Jehovah sees not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looks on the heart.

¹² And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and of a beautiful countenance and fine to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him, for this is he. ¹³ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

³⁶ Your servant killed* both the lion and the bear and this uncircumcised Philistine will be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.
³⁷ And David said, Jehovah who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go and Jehovah will be with you.

³⁵ I am this day eighty years old. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be yet a burden to my lord the king?

⁶ And Solomon said, You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, just-as he walked before you in truth and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with you. And you have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne as it is this day. ⁷ And now, O Jehovah my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. And I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. ⁸ And your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. ⁹ Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to judge this your great people?
¹⁰ And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. ¹¹ And God said to him, Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for yourself long life, neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, ¹² behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart, so that there has been none like you before you, neither after you will any arise like you.

¹³ And all Israel will mourn for him and bury him, for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

¹² And it will happen, as soon as I have gone from you, that the Spirit of Jehovah will carry you where I do not know. And so when I come and tell Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me. But I your servant fear Jehovah from my youth.

² And he did what was right in the eyes of Jehovah and walked in the ways of David his father and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father. And in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places and the Asherim and the graven images and the molten images.

² Yes, the strength of their hands, to what should it profit me? Men in whom ripe age has perished.

⁹ Because you are he who took me out of the womb. You made me trust upon my mother's breasts. ¹⁰ I was cast upon you from the womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.

¹¹ Come, you* children, listen to me. I will teach you* the fear of Jehovah.

¹⁷ O God, you have taught me from my youth and I have declared your wondrous works until now.
¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not, until I have declared your strength to a generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

¹⁰ The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength eighty years, yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, because it is soon gone and we fly away.

¹⁷ I love those who love me and those who seek me diligently will find me.

⁶ Train up a child in the way he should go and even when he is old he will not depart from it.

⁸ Yes, if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, because they will be many. All that comes is vanity.

¹⁰ Therefore remove sorrow from your heart and put away evil from your flesh, because youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

⁸ Yes, in the way of your judgments, O Jehovah, we have waited for you, to your name. Even to your memorial, is the desire of our soul.

²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

⁸ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore he requested of the ruler of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
⁹ Now God made Daniel find kindness and compassion in the sight of the ruler of the eunuchs.

¹⁷ Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. And Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

⁹ Strangers have devoured his strength and he does not know. Yes, gray hairs are here and there upon him and he does not know.

¹⁵ For he will be great in the Lord’s sight, and he may never drink wine or liquor, and he will be filled more with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

⁴⁰ Now the child was growing and becoming-powerful in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.
⁴¹ And his parents were traveling every year to Jerusalem to the feast of the Passover. ⁴² And when he became twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem, according to the custom of the feast; ⁴³ and having completed the days, while they were returning, the boy Jesus remained back in Jerusalem, and Joseph and his mother did not know it. ⁴⁴ But supposing him to be in the caravan, they went a day’s journey, and they were seeking him among their relatives and among their acquaintances. ⁴⁵ And having not found him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking after him.
⁴⁶ And it happened, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and asking them questions. ⁴⁷ Now all who heard him were astonished at his intelligence and his answers. ⁴⁸ And when they saw him, they were astounded, and his mother said to him, Son, why have you done so to us? Behold, your father and I was seeking you, sorrowing.
⁴⁹ And he said to them, Why is it that you were seeking me? Did you not know it is essential for me to be in the things of my father? ⁵⁰ And they did not understand the declaration which he spoke to them. ⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and he was being subject to them and his mother was keeping all these words in her heart.
⁵² And Jesus was progressing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

¹⁶ But Jesus, having called them to him, said, Allow the little children to come to me and do not forbid them; for the kingdom of God is for such.

⁴ And the fathers, do not rouse your children to anger, but rear them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

¹⁵ And you have known, that from a baby, the sacred Scriptures which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
