¹ Now the days of David drew near that he should die. And he charged Solomon his son, saying,

²⁹ And the time drew near that Israel must die. And he called his son Joseph and said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh and deal kindly and truly with me. I beseech you, do not bury me in Egypt,

¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation and give him a charge in their sight.

²⁸ But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him, for he will go over before this people and he will cause them to inherit the land which you will see.

¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a command. And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.

²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a command and said, Be strong and of good courage, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them and I will be with you.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

²⁸ Therefore, take-heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God, which the Lord acquired through his own blood. ²⁹ I know this: after my goodbye, cruel wolves will be entering into you, not sparing the flock; ³⁰ and men will be standing up from among yourselves, speaking perverse things, to pull away the disciples after themselves. ³¹ Hence watch, remembering that for three years I ceased not from admonishing each one of you^\'b0 every day with tears.

¹⁸ I consign this command to you, my child Timothy, according to the prophesies preceding upon you, in order that you may be warring the good warfare by them;

¹³ I am commanding you in God’s sight, who gives-life to all things and of Christ Jesus, who in front of Pontius Pilate testified the good confession;

¹ Therefore, I am thoroughly testifying in the sight of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge the living and the dead according to his appearing and his kingdom.

⁶ For I am already a drink-offering and the time of my departure stands-ready.

¹³ But I am deeming it righteous, inasmuch as I am in this tabernacle, to arouse you with a reminder; ¹⁴ knowing that the removal of my tabernacle is coming quickly, just-as our Lord Jesus Christ indicated to me. ¹⁵ But I will also be diligent, each-time, to have you in remembrance of these things, to practice them after my exodus.
