¹⁹ though You have crushed us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.

⁵ Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it. Let a cloud dwell upon it; Let the blackness of the day terrify it.

²¹ before I go, and I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; ²² a land of obscurity, the darkness of the shadow of death, without any order, and the shining is as darkness.

O God, You have cast us off, You have scattered us, You were angry; take us back. ² You made the earth tremble; You tore it; heal the breaks of it, for it is shaking. ³ You have shown Your people hard things; You have made us to drink the wine of trembling.

¹³ You divide the sea by Your strength; You break the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters. ¹⁴ You cracked open the heads of leviathan, and gave him to be food to the people living in the wilderness.

¹ In that day Jehovah with His great and fierce and strong sword shall punish the sea-monster, the darting serpent, the sea-monster, that twisting serpent; and He shall kill the monster in the sea.

¹³ And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it shall be a home of jackals and a court for ostriches. ¹⁴ The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the howling beasts; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

⁷ And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land shall become springs of water in the home of jackals, in its lair, and a place for the reed and rush.

¹⁷ And you shall speak this word to them: Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and do not let them cease. For the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great break, with a very grievous blow.

³ Speak and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon who lies in the midst of his rivers, who has said, My river is mine, and I have made it.

¹⁶ The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light; and Light has sprung up to those who sat in the region and shadow of death."

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent called Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

² And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet like those of a bear, and its mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him its power and its seat and great authority.

¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. And it had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon. ¹² And it exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those dwelling in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And it does great wonders, so that it makes fire come down from the heaven onto the earth in the sight of men.

¹⁰ And the fifth angel poured out his vial on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom became darkened. And they gnawed their tongues from the pain.
